A very reliable source in the know about bar table players told me Jesse Bowman may be the BEST bar-box player in the country right about now.

I'm not familiar with Shawn Putnam's bar table game, but there is no question that the man's got game.

It would be a nice match-up to sweat. That's for sure! :D

JAM

P.S. I didn't even know Jesse had a brother!

How about if we throw a BIG CUEBALL onto the barbox? What does your source say then? :D :D

I know jamie bowman and i dont think he was bragging or asking you to set up a match for him . The way i read it he is not saying he is better than shawn just saying he has a fair chance to win and i have seen Jamie play he plays a very solid game 9 ball or 8 !

Just my 2 cents worth ;)

I like Jesse's game, but when that little Dennis from the Philipines started playing Eight Ball on the Diamond tables, everyone took a step back, Jesse included. I'd take Dennis in a heartbeat over Jesse or anyone else playing 8-Ball (or Ten Ball) on a Diamond barbox.

Ask anyone who went to the two big bar table tournaments out West last year. Dennis won both 8-Ball events over stellar fields. He did a little gambling, then everyone just steered clear of him.

Once again I will put my money where my mouth is. ANY player who wants to play Dennis 8-Ball (or Ten Ball) even on a bar table has got a game. You pick the bet, minimum $1,000.

In all likelihood, the next two or three best bar table players are also filipino. Sorry, but it's true.

LOL! :D I truly believe that my source thinks that there is only one BEST barbox player in the world with the big cueball.

I've got a funny video I am going to someday load up on YouTube. It is of a player who is shooting 9-ball rotation on a bar box with the big cueball. Before any ball hits the designated pocket, the player is shooting the next shot in rotation. The only sound you can hear the whole 20 seconds is balls rolling inside the table. It's pretty cool, actually! :p

Poor Shawn Putnam. I'll bet his ears are ringing. He probably doesn't even know that there's a prospective target on his back by a gunslinger named Jamie! :D

By the way Ms. Jam, your little buddy would have scared even the filipinos in his heyday (on a barbox). Just like he did the rest of the world.

With the big ball, I liked Jr. Weldon and Bakersfield Bobby.

nicely done Dj, trying to get me to go off joker. i appreciate the positive comments about my game on here though. i am attempting a mini comeback goin fairly well so far

Jay;

I remember watching Keith play a blonde haired kid on a BB at the El Rancho tournament in West Sacramento, I think in 79. Don't remember his name, Keith lost. Do you remember his name?

Mike

I am not trying to knock Jessie's game, but Corey Deuel has been wanting to play him on the barbox for a long time. Jamie do you have any insight on this? There was alot of discussion about this on the forums a while back. Is Jessie willing to play Corey?

Jammie has a pretty solid game. If I am not mistaken he did win the BCA Mens OPEN division in Vegas about 9 or 10 years ago. I know his brother has won just about every open and masters level event out there though.
Jammie was the second Bowman I ever saw play. His dad was the first and we slung it around close to the same speed, but then I got to meet up with the kid Jammie and I thought he was one of the best I ever saw on a bar table (this was 9 years ago or so), both of them kept telling me that the other son was way better, i could not believe it until I saw him play, then I was totally on board the Jessie train.

Cole Dixon. They knocked heads a few times over the years.

I'm lost! Jamie Bowman? Jesse Bowman?
Same person? Brothers? How do they compare?
If they're not the same person, why are all of
you talking more about Jesse than Jamie?

Jesse is jammie's younger brother, Jammie is good, but Jesse is in an intire different class of player.

Matlock..............notice the word LOCK.........

I saw Matlock in Byram, MS. a few years back. Mississippi 9-Ball open. He was playing Reed Pierce, down 7-0 in a race to 9. Reed broke, came up dry, never got back up. David put a 9 pack on him! Stellar play, by far the best I've ever seen on the bar box.

jamie bowman won the 2001 singles open b.c.a. in vegas and jesse won the 2002 masters singles b.c.a. in vegas.

When they played here

I believe it is Jamey with a 'Y", and he and Jessie and Chad Vilmont all showed up here years ago for the big Thanksgiving tournament. At that time, Jamey was a ball to a ball n half behind Jessie, and I played Chad Vilmont in the tournament, in fact, he put me out of the tournament on a hill-to-hill match.

The reason I noticed the spelling so much was because I have a good Pool and traveling buddy named Jamie Sanders that was playing in the tournament also.

Chad broke, didn't make nothing, difficult layout, thin cut on 1 to right hand corner, not a good bet on the out, I rolled out making the 1 ball shot harder, expecting to get it back, he cut the 1 in, and finessed an excelllent runout for the win. BTW, I had planned to play a safety if he gave the shot back.

Jessie won the tournament that year, and Jamey and Chad both got in the money also. BTW, Jessie turned down an offer to play Walden one time.
