Well I don't officially know who won. When I left @ 2:00am they were just starting the final four. Based on my perception of the way they were playing, my prediction for the final outcome is

Billy
Tony
Tang
Morro

All I know for sure is that there was not much of anything being missed by anyone.....on some fairly intimidating tables.

Morro and Tang seemed to be fighting the break...Chohan & Palmer on the other hand seemed to have a really good break working and it is really hard to pick a favorite. Plamer just seemed to have the whole package working last night and looked very comfortable.

Up date

Tang and Billy played out the final match starting at about 2:30 in a race to 13. I havn't heard what the outcome is, but Jay said he saw something in Tang that just wouldn't go away. Someone please let me know what happened. Kent

Just woke up. I left at 2:45 AM and Tang and Billy were getting ready to play the Finals! One very lonnnggg day. Mark Griffith took over for me.

Tang looked like the old Tang, lean and mean, and hungry to win. He just beat Tony Chohan 7-6 in a great match, where no one missed. And on very tough "Ernesto" tables with 4" pockets.

It's the best I've seen Tang play in years. He had won like four in a row going to the Final and was playing better each match. Strong Pool was being played here. The best in the Southwest came for this one. No deals either. Tang said let's play for it to Billy. The final was a Race To Thirteen. I expect it went till 4:30 or 5.

When I know i'll tell you.

Billy won 13-7. It was tied at 7-7 and Billy ran off the last six games. Mark said Tang just ran out of gas. Ended after 5 AM. Oops. Too many players, and not enough time.

Next year we need to start on Friday night.

True. It will be called the "Hollywood Jack" One Pocket Tournament. This one was the Swanee tourney and that one is destined to be called the Hollywood Jack tourney. Should be around July 4th weekend.

I had a great time talking to you there. Some of the stories that you told me, I couldn't even watch the pool right in front of me because they were so interesting. Bamadog is one HELLUVA cool guy.

Jay, I was gonna introduce myself (I think we met before a loooong time ago at Hollywood Park). You passed by me and walked out the door, walking really fast. I didn't have time to react. Next time :D

I wish Tang could have won it. None of those guys have a chance against the old Tang!!! Except of course if it was the old Kim Davenport and he made it to the final four!!:D

I was pulling for our own, Jimmy M. Nice showing, sir.

Thanks. I was on like my 6th wind by the time I played Tang and he was looking like the old Tang. I really only missed 1 shot that was one I definitely should have made (I missed 2 others but both were sort of low percentage shots anyway) but it was enough to put the nail in the coffin for me. It doesn't take much in a race to 7, especially when a guy is playing well. Just seeing how everyone had been playing, I liked Tang to get to the finals after our match but, from what I saw, Billy played well the whole tournament. As it turns out, Tang did get to the finals and it sounds like Billy continued to play the way he had been playing the entire time.

Hey, if you guys only get 100 players for that tournament you should just start it on Sunday. :p
