Jeannette Lee's cornrows

Darn it Don! I thought for sure you'd have some cornrow pictures! ;p

Sammy,
The cornrows were present for just a few weeks after a vacation to Jamaica. I did not snap any photos because I'm a pool player; NOT an internet/psycho/stalker guy (well....maybe a bit of a psycho....but no restraining orders........yet......).

You can visit www.jeanettelee.com for a full range of photos (in the fans section there are more personal photos; professional photos in the regular section.....my wife and I appear in the gallery as well, but don't let that stop you from visiting). Hope to see you at DCC 2009.

I wouldn't kick her out of bed for having cornrows. :) I watched her steamroll Anna in Durham, NC this past weekend and wow... She was wearing a miniskirt dress type thing with skin tight black leggings with a top that didn't leave much to the imagination. Yowza...

Oh yeah, she shot great too. :) Looks like she has rededicated herself to her game.

any chance you could post a picture or link? what do they go for?

thanks

PP2093,
I could snap a few pictures and post them if there is interest (though I don't have any right now). It is a "way cool" cue feature.

I don't know the price; but I'm sure Dave would quote you one if asked (I'm pretty sure JL does not pay for her cues).

DP,
She is still recuperating from her second major surgery in the past 3 years - I believe it was just before the Charlotte tournament. She definitely is trying to regain her form (in 2004 just before her surgery, she was STRONG; probably 80% of that now); and spending more time playing/practicing.

To play at such a high level (final 4 the past 2 tournaments) so soon after major surgery is QUITE an accomplishment - most patients would still be lying in bed. To play so well after multiple complicated spine surgeries is UNBELIEVEABLE in my opinion (most people are disabled after 2 spine surgeries; and she is approaching double digits in surgeries).

There is much to be admired in a competitor that retains the drive in spite of constant pain; and never offers excuses. Count me in as a big fan.

I like the cornrows.

I'm afraid I used to have a false impression of Jeanette, my own fault for believing what I read without considering the sources. But she changed it for me in a split second.

In 2003 I had the opportunity to play in a pro event. I had been there once before, two or three years earlier. I did not make any kind of impression, winning only one match my first time out. But somehow, some way, Jeanette recognized me and made a point to tell me so.

I was completely awestruck just to be in the same room as all of these great players, so when Jeanette spoke to me I was completely tongue-tied. How embarassing! But so nice of her to make me feel a little less out of place.

Karen Corr made casual conversation with me at the same event. I don't remember clearly what she said, again being completely awestruck. It's an amazing and terrifying experience to be amongst your idols! :)

One time I had seen her on the floor rolling and screaming with severe pain from the muscle spasms. With all that she still played well and won the WPBA event. It was many years ago and I think it was in dallas. Her determination, persistance inspite of her physical disability is amazing.

I'm delighted to hear that she's playing well again, it's been a while. When she's at the top of her game, she can be very hard to beat. And I don't care how her hair looks!!!

something like this...

I browsed through a few, but I didn't see the one you photoshopped yourself into... guess I'll have to look harder! :p I did see one with her hair braided back and possibly cornrows where she appears to be boxing with someone in a supermarket aisle (my best guess).

In any case, Jeanette looks great anywhere and anytime she smiles! :p

I'm now at the 90% sure mark of attending DCC 2009 and look forward to seeing more AZers from around the globe. See you all there!

I'm watching it too and they just said (during the Iris/Kelly match) that Kelly Fisher did not B&R a single rack in the two previous matches leading up to her match with Iris. Huh? How do you consecutively beat two touring pros without a single B&R?!?!?

Yesterday, I won the first game of my second match without shooting a ball. How did I do that? My opponent ran all 9 balls but scratched while shooting the 9. Did he bother to spot the ball back on the table? No, he just conceeded, and proceeded to rack the balls. How easy can that be?

i think she should concentrate on her game rather than the 200 other things she seems to concentrate on.

About 2-3 years ago JL had true cornrows for a short time. They were REAL tight and small. They looked like they hurt and she did not look her best in them imo.

The pics on this thread and maybe I missed one are maybe 1/10th on their way to being the type of CR she had back then and thankfully so imo.
