Some pictures of a cue that Jerry is in the process of building for me. It is a tasmanian tiger myrtle butt and tulip wood forearm with a stainless half joint. Jerry said these were among the best bottom points that he has built to date. I think Jerry does among the best full splice cues out thier.

Great unique looking wood combination and those points look sharp! That's going to look really great with some finish on it. Please post finished pics.

Talked to Jerry its about a month from completion. It is the only cue I have seen with tazmanian Tiger Mertyl.
 
Thanks for comments think Jerry is under rated although he's been building cues for 30 years

Randy you sure get some nice woods for your cues. I don't know if I've even heard of that wood needless to say seen it in a cue. Congrats!

Unfortunately the supplier i got it from had no more. I had also thought about a wrap on the cue but went wrapless. This is what Jerry had to say about the wrapless idea;

This Butt is a perfect candidate for wrapless ,as you can see in the pic the return points are the sharpest I have done to date.

I commissioned this cue before my Medical Issues and I am hoping I dont need to sell it though I may. Joel Hercek is building a cue I waited 7 yrs for and I dont intend to miss it. I am hoping 2012 proves more favorable.
 
Its done

Jerry sent some pictures of the finished cue. I was hoping the Tiger would stand out more but I still like it. Once I have it in hand I will get a better idea but Jerry still did a great job,

Your cue turned out real nice. Cue pics never do the cue justice, (unless you have a camera that you spent as much on as the cue) I'm sure it looks spectacular in person. Nice woods!
 
The Tasmanian Tiger Myrtle butt while probably not the first cue with this wood is the first one i know of or have heard of. The Tulip wood forearm was Jerry's idea and I have always like Tulip wood and I think it is a sweet combination, if it plays as I think it will I am extremely happy with it. This is also my first half joint cue.

I have to throw in some comments about Jerry as well. I have commissioned two cues from Jerry and unlike some of the cues I have commissioned from others when Jerry tells you a cue will be done it is done. He is also a pleasure to work with his cues play well and his workmanship is TOP NOTCH. For those not in the know Jerry was making cues when Gus was making cues and is still making cues.
