Rumor was that he finished in the top 10 and was seen spreading the wealth around to at least one of the vendors at SBE... And no it wasn't me LOL.. He couldn't be coaxed into spending ALL of it so he may still be heavy on the hip so if anyone sees him they may wanna try and get him to give up a big spot for the chedder LOL

And YES Bob is one of the GOOD guys....

Chris

Sorry, but his advice is still meaningless unless he's won first place in national, international and intergalactic competitions.

He was walking around the whole time with a briefcase. I don't know what was inside, but I'd guess several calculators, protractors, several beakers and possibly a bunsen burner.

But...but....science guys aren't supposed to be able to play a lick....

Good shooting Bob!

I know your humor light is on, but for those that don't know, Bob is a former National Collegiate Champion...so I'm not a bit surprised by his strong showing, calculators and slide rules aside...:)

Believe it or not Bob plays all cue games well! Three Cushions may be his best game. Don't worry Bob, I have your speed. Don't even try to hustle me!

A science guy who can walk the walk is a bit scary.....
...and it's not like you could play him chess double or nothing or something.....
...he'd probably tell when your opening was first used in tournament play.

Heck, did anyone really think Bob can't shoot ?? I'd be more surprised if he didn't finish top 10 !! Nice work.

I got a pretty good draw and won my first three matches. My fourth match was against Justin Hall. I won the first rack and maybe he started to worry.

In my next loss:wink:, I played five or six amazing shots including a stop shot with the OB only 1/2 inch from the cue ball and a level stick. When I lined up straight at the 15 ball, my opponent thought that maybe we should invite an official over to watch, but I would have been fine with him calling the shot. Some of the spectators may still be scratching their heads about how that one worked.

Unfortunately, I also shot about 20 really bad shots in that match and at one pocket it's often the bad shots that lose more than the great shots that win.

I hadn't even planned to play but I got there early and Sean L. mentioned that there was a one pocket tournament so I put my name on the waiting list. Fortunately, some pool players are flaky and don't show up for things they've signed up for.

I was amazed that I got $750 back for 9th but I'm not complaining. I don't think I had played one pocket since one of CSI's Opens in Las Vegas. BTW, I think Allen issues 1099s.

Phoenixville is the place to eat. And it has a fancy chocolate store and a retro movie theater. And a Wawa. And police on bicycles. It's also on the way to Classic Billiards which has both a snooker table and a heated carom table.

Great showing in a strong field!

I sweated part of your match with Justin Hall......he did have a worried look on his face after you won the first game.:)

You will get a 1099. I forgot to claim $650 for 17th in the Open Amateur a couple years ago........the IRS reminded me with a letter (and penalty ) a few months ago, lol.

This year I bypassed the flat bellies and played in the Seniors. Finished 5th out of 384.....not bad for a blind, old man.

Congrats to you too! But, instructors aren't supposed to be able to play either! :D
