Jim Lee owed work

Your sarchasm was met with like.

Posters who have been here for a while ( I think ) know better than to bait me...it usually ends badly.
Personally, I think I have a healthy sense of humor that I can shelf for a few minuets when I need to address issues at hand.

There are no sacred cows in my field.

So, I finally get a reply from Jim:

"Cue will be shipped by Wednesday of this week. And by the way, **** You and I hope your health stays strong asshole!"

Well, look what I discover opening that package. What was supposed to be just a wrap job... He changes out the handle and jacks up the finish on the butt and forearm. No wonder it took 6 months filled with excuses and lies. I feel a little lucky to even get it back though, will be sending it to a real cuemaker - the original maker like I should have done in the first place. Best of Luck for those who also got/getting screwed by him, what a nightmare

Sent it to Proficient Billiards for restoration....

Just curious, how can you tell the handle was replaced? I don't see any signs from the picture, but I'm not sure what to look for anyway.

Wow Q!

I love window boxes and notched diamonds. I would have been in or close to panic mode in your shoes.
Glad you got it back.

Its hard to tell but it looks like there is no wrap groove cut and unless its been really sanded clean, you would see some previous wrap debris.

Ah, thanks. I see it now. It looks in a couple spots that the maple is even proud of the forearm surface.

He sent me another scathing nasty email which pretty much blames me for everything, but I'll save everyone from the details by no posting it, entertaining read though. He also included a little threat in there too which I'll probably save for the police.

The original leather was a thicker boars wrap so replacing it with a thin elephant ear would require rebuilding the groove. I believe that involves epoxy. That was the original job, 2 days quote. 6 months later, I finally got it back like this. He did the handle repair and sanding without even talking to me. He said the handle was warped, which I believe did have little roll, but not one that I'm willing to replace the handle for. I wished he would have talked to me instead of proceeding to do this work, I would have declined it.

Thanks to AZ for the support. Even though it's just a material thing that can be replaced, it's nice to be able to vent and save $ on psychiatric sessions. Also, I believe it's good to let others know what's going on.

This sucks immensely- it looks like it is/was a nice cue. I hope you can get it fixed. Thanks for sharing the pictures and exchange you had with him- you are doing all of us a favor.

Thanks...gonna save up to fix it. We'll see what I can scrap together after paying for tuition. Glad to see an end to it and hope others get theirs someday.

Anybody else heard anything from Jim lately? I got an email 2 months ago stating the inlays were in and was fixing to shoot the clear but haven't heard back. I emailed him a few days ago trying to get an update but no reply as of yet. Was wondering if those ahead of me have got anything?

So I've tried calling him, sending him an email, and texting. He hasn't responded to any of them. The last i heard was when i posted here on AZB about saying he was the "same ol Jim". So apparently he can lurk the forums but not respond to subsequent forms of communications.

In late August he showed me pictures of my cue with just the bumper to be installed, easy enough right? No word from him when i can have that done by someone else.

Has anyone else gotten their cues? I remember a handful of people still waiting while some got theirs.

Any updates?

I'm still waiting on mine too. Got an email a few months ago that all that was left was the finish, and last month or the month before he said he was still working on it and could finish it and that was it.

Anybody have info on Jim?
Jim still has a custom that he should have finished ages ago. And my Coker cue that needed a wrap.

He stopped responding to me some time ago.
Im getting ready to visit. Just want my cues, finished or not.
