My apologies if I had anything to do with this thread getting out of hand. I hope you find what you're looking for. Grey Ghost is right mostly about Eddie, but was partial in choice of words, sounding abrasive.
It is apparent that you're not going to get an authentic Weinstock shaft, at least not anytime soon. Eddie's tapering machine is an old lathe and has only one setup. It is also similar to Joel's taper, but it is still not the same thing. Eddie Farris will charge a great deal more than Pete Petree, and take two to three times longer. His asking price for a sneaky pete is $500. His shafts are $200.
Pete has the ability to mic a shaft, create any taper you want, get it done promptly, and charge an astonishingly lower price. This, my friend, is a considerable fact that is difficult to overlook.
I'm glad JW is back to making cues! i'm saving up to buy a j/b from him in the near future
