Looking for some information and history on John Nemic and his cues. Recently bought one that is a terrific player, so would like to know more about him. Would like to purchase another one of his cues at some point. Here is my player with a oil finish. I believe Deanoc on here would know about him. Would appreciate him chiming in if possible.

John made a custom cue for me and there was absolutely nothing about the transaction, from start to finish, that I would change. His price was more than fair, and the cue I had made plays exactly how it should given the specs I provided.

Mr. Nemic goes by the user name everglade on AZ and JA. He makes the best traditional full splice cues with veneers I have every seen.

Thanks everyone for the comments. High praise indeed coming from you Larry, an impressive builder in your own rite.

John Nemek

In the Dallas area, John Nemec is known for his cue repair work, which is absolutely excellent. John told me that he has made a hundred cues and has shipped them all over the world. He does not spend any money on advertising and has all the work he can handle. He makes a custom "full splice "sharp points up and down" type cue. He makes about 20 cues a year. He takes a lot of pride in his work and feels he makes a great cue. If you have one, I wouldn't get rid of it.

Picked up a beauty. Think it may be one of the Deanoc cues, but not sure. It has the wood pin on the shaft. Now I know why no one is selling them. Just great players.

Deanoc is friends with him I think. Made the Deano sneakies iirc.

That would be a good way. Many Moons ago, I bought a used Deano Sneaky on AZ.

I fully suspect it was one of Nemic's, as Deano had 2 people build those for him.

I couldn't get used to it so put it a case. One evening, I took it out with me and it was like, all of a sudden, someone sprinkled Magic Dust on it.

It quickly became one of my Favorites. I used to carry it in a single cue aluminum case in the Winter and figured that it got a little cold one night during the trip down to the hall.

The butt warped badly. I was seriously sad.

Deano was nice enuff, just cause that is the kinda guy that he is, sent me his last, and personal Deano Cue.

Altho, it was a very nice cue, wasn't the same and pretty sure Deano told me that the other maker had built that one.

I sent it back to Deano and on second thought, likely should have kept it.

But, it was just on loan with an option to purchase it if I wanted.

I would love to get my hands on another Nemic Sneaky like that. They were fairly plentiful years back but haven't seen one for some time.

I would jump on another in a second.

John made the nicest Deano cues, another hall of fame builder in baltimore ageed to make me 100 at a better price and greater volunn, the initial cue we tested was good but the next 99 must havebeen forign cheapos

they played good but did not hold up to american standards,in a nut shell I lost money

The ones john Nemic made were terrific cues,he also makes the best full splice with venees that I have seen, plus I like the play of them.

John may or may not be interested in making you one ,call him and order one,if your normal plan is to ask him if he will do it for less,I doubt he will make anything for you.

john is a nice fella and expects to be treated the way he treats people so the pool business is not so much fun for him.

If you order one
and he agrees to make it,you will have the best cue you can get for the money.

Best wishes to you guys that contact everglade, his phone is
214 477 7323

I believe he was of great influence on Larry Vigus and Jake, all 3 of these guys make cues that play the way I like them
