When he was living here he got knocked on his a$$ more than once. Once by the owner of one of the the poolrooms.
He was playing a buddy one hole for $500 and it came down to a spot shot and as he watched my bddy getting ready to shoot he waited until he started foreward with his stroke and screamed MISS!
He moved to the northeast and pretended he owned a poolroom there too and was treated about the same.
How anyone can play that well and have a head for a punching bag is really something.

ive read up too here and i agree.i acted horribly with corey .
i made the mistake of letting corey stay free with me in vegas for match.
i have invested my life savings in bullion silver and gold.
corey basically told me for 2 days before match that its a dumb thing to do invest silver and gold and we argued about it.



now first day of match he starts saying dont touch cueball ,because he thinks im putting something on cueball. that pisses me off because hes saying im trying to cheat.
on way back to condo together i say u outbroke me and he says not really.
i laugh and say its on film corey i made ball on break once and u did like 8 times.we argue more over gold and silver and the breaking but not to heated. just regular small stuff.


now we get to match and corey doesnt want balls cleaned and i do in machine,we discuss kinda heated.
then one pocket match starts and between him telling me for 2 days ive invested my money like an idiot,im basically a cheat and now he got every roll.i get pissed.


also he complained at me too ,muttering,hand gestures etc but was smart enough to cover mic. i was aggravated enough by then to not care.
long story short yes i went off on corey .
trust me ive been severely mad at 2 opponents in my entire career ,and both of them got me mad before match and during.


i forgot to mention in 2006 corey introduced a guy to a propoolplayer i wont mention for golf match.
corey knows this guy is a progolfer and corey bets on this guy.
said poolplayer trust corey and corey says u can win .they play for huge stakes 60,000. corey bets on progolfer for 1000 while between 5 poolplayers we lost 60,000. i know for a fact i was lied to myself and lost 2500.


in closing about corey we all forgave him basically ,but when i had to listen for 2 days that silver is stupid and dont touch cueball with a towel like im a cheat i was ready to punch corey.then match starts and i went off.
ive always like corey and we have ironed things out but trust me he knows why i came unglued.

if people on here think i acted this way everytime im losing i would have been killed by now. trust me theres always more to a story then meets the i.
that all being said i was still in the wrong.


as to the guy who mention im a punching bag,i lived in pensacola 7 years and a guy tried to sucker punch me because i told him he was a liar and he came unglued. he swung at me i ducked.he s in jail now as i believe hes has 3 assault charges,from other people.

if i had a manager at the time he would have said play with the mic off john u r too pissed off at corey right now for many reasons and on camera with a mic on this wont go well. anyway im my own manager good or bad. this time was bad.
im not even going to comment on what harriman says because hes just mad at me for beating him almost everytime ive ever played him.
corey on the other hand is a good guy 99 percent of time and him and i get along and ive said im sorry for everything at tar match.
corey and i have hung out for years golf together roomed together etc.

Ok John, I read your post and kudos for you my man for being honest and for being the bigger man. I asked Corey about y'all's TAR match when he was in Houston. I asked him that he must have been steaming after having such a big lead in the one pocket to loose with you acting out the way you did. I asked him what set you off and he said he simply asked you to calm down.

Based on what you said I can see now that your behavior culminated as a result of him needling you and setting the hook for a few days and you snapped. I can also say I like your personality much more than most pool players but you can be a bit of a head case. And that's ok since we are all flawed carbon based life forms and I believe it's better to let the emotions out rather than let them fester inside.

Plus, Corey is not an easy guy to connect with on a human level and to me, he seems to have a bit of a superiority complex. But that's just on the surface since I really don't know the guy that well. And it's also kind of funny that he's giving you investment advise.

I've always liked the cut of your gib first time I met you in Orlando at the IPT when you thought I was a movie star. You are outgoing, well spoken and laid back. Great guy to talk to.

I forgive you John Schmidt. You are back on my top 5 favorite players list.

I just hope you match up with Jeremy on tough equipment because I think that would be a great match since your one hole game has really improved since Galveston.

I also have one complaint I'll have to tell you about in person one day but it involved, 1.) Corey's pool school, 2.) a chubby middle aged frustrated sexy looking lady and 3.) $150 worth of buttery nipples and long island ice teas.

They're going for a buck a round today on the used market since new one's are sold out everywhere. That's up from less than 20 cents each a year ago. Can you say 500%? Also you can trade them for food or essential services later on when your paper won't be accepted.

again i went overboard with corey but i wasnt bent out of shape from losing. ive lost many many times and never have issue. i just was pissed at several things and a couple people at the time .
anyway im not a terrorist or murderer,dont do drugs,dont steal,dont owe pepeople money etc.
im far from perfect but some people talk about me like im the worst human being ever and they r perfect.
then they jump in a thread and make up things to make me sound bad because secretly they are mad from me beating them or that i play better and have tons of friends.etc etc.

if at 39 years old the worst thing ive really done in my career is go off verbally in a high stakes ,high pressure poolmatch then i guess im not the antichrist.
yes ive told off a few pro idiots before and a few amateur idiots too.
that creates enemies and haters i understand that.

anyway ive had 500 poolmatches for goodsized money and never had a crossword but over the years ive created many haters because im not shy and ive went off on a few who torture me on here or in person.
im lucky because i have hundreds if not thousands of people who have been around me alot and like and trust me.
the few haters i have is part of it.

in closing corey and i could play again , but i would especially like to play harriman again. i think hes much easier to beat then corey.

I have an idea to help promote pool, John (the crybaby) schmidt and I will play a set of one pocket for the money. I want the microphones to be on so everyone at home can hear him whimper as they did when Corey was putting the heat on him. It never ceases to amaze me how some people will talk trash but when push comes to shove we learn they are mostly just people who want to start drama. To my knowledge Schmidt has matched up in the last year with Jeremy Jones and Corey, he only won against Corey cause of his trash talking Corey during play. He is in fact one of the most dis-respectful players to watch when someone starts to put the heat on him - which is why TAR does not want him back. He only apolagizes to Corey cause the apolagy is necessary in order to be politically correct as Corey has sponsors and is well respected in the billiard community as he should be. I hope some day John will learn that he does not need to pull moves (drama) when it looks like he may not be able to get the cash, he needs to know that he will not always win and when that is the case - just take his beating like a man and live to fight another day. I do not care for losing but when it happens I will not be dis- respectful to my opponent and call him names just cause he is playing well, untill he learns this he is NOT a champion in my book - and I don't care how many balls he runs on some table that is designed to make him look like a champ. So I have seen your act Schmidt and so has everyone else - it's no secret that your a mover and SHAKER when the heat is on. If someone starts running racks out on me and it looks like I may not be able to be victorious - I will and may I repeat I WILL NOT TRY TO DISTRACT MY OPPONENT BY NAME CALLING AND BEING DISRESPECTFUL - even if I don't like him.

then they jump in a thread and make up things to make me sound bad because secretly they are mad from me beating them or that i play better and have tons of friends.etc etc.

if at 39 years old the worst thing ive really done in my career is go off verbally in a high stakes ,high pressure poolmatch then i guess im not the antichrist.
yes ive told off a few pro idiots before and a few amateur idiots too.
that creates enemies and haters i understand that.

anyway ive had 500 poolmatches for goodsized money and never had a crossword but over the years ive created many haters because im not shy and ive went off on a few who torture me on here or in person.
im lucky because i have hundreds if not thousands of people who have been around me alot and like and trust me.
the few haters i have is part of it.

in closing corey and i could play again , but i would especially like to play harriman again. i think hes much easier to beat then corey.
corey is truly a great player. danny is a step below physically and mentally in my opinion.

thats why ive beaten danny many many times and if he likes that can happen again.

again if people on here met me or other players they are conviced are antichrist outside of pool they would see were ok guys.

whenever u guys see me play,ego,pride,money,sponsorships,etc is on the line. so anybody will have matches where they go off verbally,physically or both. not saying its ok but it happens.

danny is the other guy i had problem with.no sorry for you danny. you were stupid enough to threaten me in pm before match because of something u misconstrued as usual. u always insult me danny and lie etc. u can find me at next tourney and tell me off in person .im easy to find. bring money to,if u have any. we can play

my game has improved since galveston.i should not have played jeremy there.
i had just missed several events and been in a sling for 91 days from a dirtbike . i was out of sling for 6 days,couldnt raise my cue above my chest.
anyway even unhurt i could have lost .
if we play now i think ill play better and hopefully win.

Your right John your not perfect - throwing chalk at your opponent while they are calmly just waiting for there turn when u come up short on position is a wimp move created by a wimp player. Also arguing about rules in order to stop play with intent to anger your opponent is a cowardly act indeed. So the first step is admitting there is a problem with your attitude and then maybe TAR will invite you back, untill then I would choose your words more carefully when your opponent brings the heat. You might as well try and start improving your attitude now John cause the match - ups will continue to get tough for you. In other words from here on out John Schmidt your going to have to prove that your not A CRYBABY who's rep is built off of popularity tournaments where the draw may or may not be rigged to help u and drop pocket tables that help make u look good and run huge runs. I have said this before and I will say it again - he is not solid enough to win against a tough opponent in a long set of 14.1 due to the attitude problem that he has. I am not perfect either but have conducted myself well while at the table and when I am under heavy fire I don't need to look for an argument and call my opponent names in order to win. Hey John in the next TAR I would like to do a saver but I don't want you to tell your backer about it - I want it to be our secret - sound kinda familier 'shady' Schmidt? Plus there will be a contract this time around if they ever come up with a decent offer for Schmidt and I to play again. I am not one bit afraid of losing or winning for that matter to John Schmidt /Mr.400 cries per second. One question for John - do u ever find yourself having to say your sorry much? I only ask cause from what I have witnessed you consistently have to have drama with your opponent (if he is really a formidable one) I do think your one of the best practice players out there.
