It would be interesting to see what a top player's high run would be on a standard 9 foot diamond pro table like they play on at the DCC (not the 4 1/8" rotation table, the normal pro table). I recall you putting on those really cool 14.1 challenges, that was awesome! But I'm talking a similar dedicated & sustained effort to what produced Jayson and John's high runs. I'd be real curious to know what they could achieve on those Diamonds.

Allow me to correct you there, they stop competing. I don't think anyone who has ever caught the pool bug has stopped "playing" for any real length of time so long as they are physically able.

There has been no big reward for years, what are your talking about? There might have been a 10k reward at various times, hardly enough to entice pros.
From my recollection, the high run in all the years at the DCC challenge was about 280. And, it just so happened to be on a 4 1/8" pocket table that got snuck into the challenge that particular year. I forget who it was, I want to say Filler but can't be sure. Bob would know for sure.

Back around 2014 John Schmidt's two highest runs in straight pool on a 9 foot table were 403 and 400, and his highest run on a 9 foot diamond table was 294 (don't recall what the pocket sizes were for sure though). As I recall he said at the time that he felt his 294 on the diamond was the bigger accomplishment than his 403/400 and was more proud of it.

You said a "big reward has been on the table for years", which makes it sound one way, but as I recall Bobby offered his challenge only for a period of time, only intermittently during that period of time at his whim and convenience, and only to one person at a time at most, only at his personal invitation and approval, and only if they came to his location. Effectively, the majority of the time nobody was eligible for any high run prize from him at all, and the rest of the time only one person was eligible.
Filler ran 285 on a 4.5" Diamond. On the same day, Orcullo ran 260 on a 4.25" Diamond. (Diamond had meant for all the 14.1 tables to be 4.5", but two of them had the smaller pockets.) Here is the video of Filler's 285 run:

What are you talking about? Unless I'm remembering wrong, which is quite possible, he was only offering a prize to one person at a time, on occasion here and there, for a relatively short little while, and I haven't heard of him doing that in quite some time.
