I could careless if someone knows my name, I even think it's in my profile. If not, it's Dean MacNaughton, I live in Toronto. Big deal....

Nah, I'm not like that, i'm cool as a Cucumber ;). If he tells me to f uck off, then I will leave it at that and f uck off. If he says something about my mom though, it's all over... LOL

Very true
Being a pro is not an easy life. If I go into work I am guaranteed to pay my bills and eat. If I decide not to go to work I will still get paid with sick days or vacation days if I have them and still pay my bills. For a pro paying the bills depends on how well you do. I would be a wreck walking in thinking that I absolutely need to win to eat tonight. Most old roadies I know say the same exact thing. They say, "I made a lot of money, but I don't have anything to show for it." They do it for the love of the game and I have an incredible amount of respect for it.

I'd imagine that I would take things the wrong way every now and then if someone said that anyone could do it too. To live life like that and then have someone say it's easy as pie (I didn't read the comments John reacted too so I may be shooting in the dark here) I may be pretty sensitive to comments like that too.

Before I get slammed for John's comments I will also add that some of the comments were overly harsh and could easily be taken the wrong way by a lot of ppl on this site.

I am not interested in learning from a pro how to control the cueball.

I like reports from tournaments, their opinion about big events, matches that has been played and perhaps how they practice and stuff like that.

If someone has enough time to post 100 times in 2 weeks during the voting process for the Mosconi Cup, or 10+ times during a few days before the World 14-1, sure they can put in atleast a post or three during a month, don't you think?

I also like to hear general comments from top players, (good or bad), but talking about the voting process for Mosconi Cup, I personally thought it was an insult to American pool fans to let everyone and their grandma vote on the final player. And for JS to come way down the list behind Charlie Williams says it all.Keep posting, JS, and tell it like it is. Good day.

I noticed hatchetman74 posted almost 100 posts in 2 weeks, but haven't heard a word from him after he got the needed support from people.

There's a few top players that posts regulary, like Donny Mills, Bartram, Darren Appleton and Markus Juva, and John and Sarah keeps posting all year through, and not only when needed help and support. That's how you build a fan base on here on AZ, imo.

Too bad that John has decided to not post here anymore, but I hope he will join again in the future.

Got to say I believe there is a really good reason for hatchetman not posting alot lately......He's probably very busy practicing for the mosconi cup so America can put a hurting on team Europe this year:grin:

It is almost as if John Schmidt struck a chord with you, Gatz. Sometimes it's better to just let things go. Nothing good can come out of this back-and-forth colloquy on this thread now. It's a dead issue. John Schmidt is gone, and now you won't have to read his words anymore. In a way, it's a win-win for you, Gatz! :)

Why should professional pool players be comfortable on a pool forum anyway?! After all, this is a pool forum. What right do they have to come on here and share their nuggets of wisdom?!

Let's keep things the way they are. That way, nobody can enjoy the pros' tips.
 
I just love how everyone thinks i'm the bad guy thats all, just because John is a pro player and I have a difference of opinion then he does.

The fact that people keep starting new threads about this whole issue is quite amusing really.

im going to make this as simple as i can.i thought about this for the last few days.
i was trying to one up a couple people and say smug things to make them mad etc.i guess it worked.
obviously ive offended half of az.didnt mean too.
basically im going to say i got carried away trying to win argument .
im going to extend an apology to gatz,hu,chewning and anybody else that took things to heart.
im going to stay off az though as im not sure im cut out for forums ,im better at talking and relating to people in person.

i know i said alot of arrogant stuff but seriously if i acted like that all the time i would get beat up twice a week. i said those things to aggravate as a last resort from frustration obviously.

im not pointing fingers i said alot of mean stuff and so did others . but
i say lets all forget it and and remember we all like pool so we all have something in common.a friendship has been built on less before.


ive blown up many times before , have been insulted for about 15 years as a player and sometimes i lose it.

anyway i understand if you guys hate me but one thing i cant stand for long is being mean to people or picking on someone, so for that im sorry to everybody .

arguing is like being drunk you say things you dont mean.
i wont hold a grudge because anything anybody said mean towards me or vice verca was during a heated argument.

im going to ohio tommorrow for a week and wont be on here.i had to set things right before i went though.


you know the fighting and insult threads go on for 10 pages but the apology threads die after 1 page,funny how that works.

i know its more exciting and fun when im going at it with people but i have more serious things to do and so do they so lets try too all get along .

Hey John, thanks for the apology. Everybody gets heated from time to time. I didn't say some of the nicest things myself, so I would like to apologise for some of my crappy remarks.

Don't worry about the drink, I don't drink. I do like OJ though... lol
 
Glad to see John come on here and make it right. Tap tap tap. Saying you're sorry is a hard thing. It's even harder to see you have something to be sorry for. John is a good guy and I'm glad he made it right.

There has been way too much tention on here lately. Let's just have fun and enjoy what we have.

But John, you still owe $1,000 to charity? :) the Andrew Cleary foundation should work!

John Schmidt is a stand-up guy, always has been and always will be. Anybody who can brave these AzBilliards' waters is okay in my book.

Man, Keith sure does look fat in this picture, and John looks svelte, as usual! :)

I don't think pink is Keith's best color. LOL
