Johnny Archer's Buddy Hall Fund Raiser

truck

First off, thanks to all of you for the kind words regarding my mother. She had been sick for some time with Alzheimers and Parkinsons. We knew this day was close. I didn't think it would be this tough on me but I was wrong. It seems that when the person who brought you into this world leaves it's like a part of you leaves too.

I'm sorry about my poor use of the English language. I joke that I should have paid better attention in English class but it really does show up at time. I may not have the best command of the language but I was fortunate to have had a couple really great parents who taught me understanding, compassion and forgiveness. They didn't teach me with words alone but also with actions. They are a big part of why I am always ready and willing to help out.

I commented earlier in this thread about "real" pool players migrating to Facebook. What I meant by that was, people who go by their real names and are proud to share about themselves and their lives.

The anonymity here on AZ allows people to be mean spirited and hateful with no risk of blow back. To me these are not real people and they are driving "real" people away. It's like walking down the street and random feet and hands can pop out and kick you and punch you anytime they want and there's nothing you can do except hope that someone steps up and says that it's wrong.

I'm Ray Hansen, I cover pool and I will help you anyway I can. Anytime. I will not sit back and watch anyone be put through the ringer by anonymous people. They might as well have white hoods on and show up in the dark of night.

Johnny Archer is a phenomenal pool player. He is also a human being with feeling and flaws. I believe Johnny has a good heart and good intention. He's was careless with a couple of the prizes, the jerseys, but I believe he will do right by Jesse and Mike. I hope they both report back with their experience after everything they and Johnny work out is complete.

Ray

I am glad you came on here and clarified. I know you are an awesome guy and with great intentions. A lot of good and bad stuff happens on AZ and the good people try to protect the integrity of this community and your comments seemed to protect someone who was perceived to have taken advantage of the community. Unfortunately it is hard to distinguish the good from bad sometimes and the written word can be unforgiving. I will see ya soon Ray.

In this post - there's a lot of good stuff, a lot of sad, and some very experienced personal opinions offered. Yes Ray, we are all human - with feelings and flaws. Seems the more we see in all walks of life and the more emotional events we sustain - the more apt our alliances affect motives and influence behavior. For good or for bad or for gray area.

At the end of the day, we all have one mirror.

I always hope for a happy ending.

Oh come on Ray. My name is Terry Ashton. I live in Regina Saskatchewan.

Thats all you need. Look me up anytime. People have been members here for years. we know where they live, what they do for a living. Many times where they work.

For the most part, the Pros do a fine job of driving themselves away.

Someone mentioned that last year, there was 13 major tournaments and now we are down to what, 5 or 6. Mark Griffin is planning on changing his Tournament formats.

Is that the AZB Members fault. No. Anything that happens to the Pros or their reputations, they do that all by themselves.

Members are just tired of some of the crap and won't let the Real People, as you call them, get away with it any longer. They call them on their BS.

If things are so much better on Face Book, have fun.

I will always remember you referring to my good friend Chad, as The Drunk Canadian on your 4 Bears Stream last year. There were a lot of our local players there that didn't appreciate that.

That was real classy, and you have to nerve to put the blame on any of us. And here you are on a soap box preaching about public relations.

If I looked at your post history, how far back would I have to go to find a positive post?

Not very far because the majority of them is helping people out with cue questions etc.

Or telling jokes.

If a person is going to make posts that pretty much includes myself in them, I will FKing answer them in any manner that I please. Is that ok with you?

Here we go once again. If someone posts something contrary, you're negative or a Hater.

If I wanted all my posts to be positive, I would go hang out at a Flower Arranging site.

Now, how about yourself.

Ah, Satori. Sudden Enlightenment. Enlighten me Buddy.

I think this case is pretty clear cut. By coming to Azer's for some help with Buddy's expenses, they create an obligation for themselves to live up to their word. I'm not saying they didn't have the best of intentions, and I feel sure they will make this right. (they being Johnny and Ray). When there is a problem like there was in this case, it certainly is not out of line for AZers to point it out.

I also hope that the people who participated were thanked by Buddy, Johnny, and Ray in some way.

Terry - I would tell you where to go but it appears you are already there.

Oh and the last time you brought up your "good friend", I sent him an apology and here's his response. HE seems like a really cool guy that I would like to drink a beer with.

Ray I appreciate all you do to promote the game and players.... and trust me... I dont mind bein the drunk canadian lol.... any chance to have a link for the match I played? My daughter wanted to watch me play... would really appreciate it if I could show her. Thanks for the message... shows that I was right in knowing you were a great guy.

Chad Sens ~

Ray

Well, thats excellent that you sent an apology to Chad.

Still, I am almost 100% convinced that you still don't get it Ray.

I will explain it to you at a later date, Ok. Have to run for League. I'm not sure that you will understand, but I will try.

Well said

Things usually work out for the best! I hope this does for all concerned.

Ray

Definitely. A large part of them remain with us after they are gone, and a part of us leaves with them. In some ways it seems fitting to me, although I will have a hard time when the day comes that I need to go through that which you are now dealing with. My deepest condolences Ray.

If someone sells a cue and sends a tip, that is criminal.

And to put Ray, who donated his time and efforts to help, into this predicament seems equally abhorrent.

I hope all the bidders for the fund raiser have been contacted by Johnny and their items they paid for are on the way.

Apparently this is still not taken care of, just read this post from today.

Please tell johnny thanks for not following through with his obligations from the last mosconi cup.

Send it to me. I like American bucks. We have plastic money now.

I likes green and real stuff, even if it is only a buck. Then I will play all in and maybe back it and stack it for a race to 20 or so.

I probably scared ya now didn't I.
