Hey guys. So, I have some pretty cool stuff that I would like to share and learn about. When I was just a little girl( I’m now 40😞😂) I remember going to my dad’s for the summer and staying with him in De Pere Green Bay. He was in love with pool. We didn’t even have a kitchen table. We had a pool table in the kitchen. He taught me ball in hand. I actually subbed for a friend one night and had to shoot bar rules and I had no idea how to do it. Let’s just say my friend never asked me to sub for him again. My dad just passed away January 1 of this year from an aggressive cancer that took him faster than anyone thought possible. He was only 60 years old. Whole new kind of heartbreak for me. I miss you so much every single day. Inheriting his home also included inheriting his spectacular billiard collection. I’ve had to sell a few things just to keep paying his bills while I go through the whole probate process but man have I found some really cool things, and I’m hoping that you guys can shed some light on some of them. Im not sure where I would ask questions on this yet. I still have to learn the forum, but for now I’ll just start here and I just wanted to share a picture of his pool room and of him and my first thing that I’ve been intrigued by as all! let me know what you guys think please please please and thankyou❤️❤️

Ps. When you look through the pictures you will see a pic of Johnny holidays encyclopedia of pocket billiards and then you’ll see a picture of its inside cover and it shows a bunch of signatures and writing on it. I also wanted to add it’s a first addition and I can’t find much information about it anywhere, except it’s rare and really good and sought after. Anyone know anything about it?

Great stuff here. Good luck with your sale. Some of those pics on the wall might have value as well. Try showing them up close.

I'm sorry about your dad. I have his book and always enjoyed it. Be careful. You may get some private messages from people saying they want to help. Not all people have good intentions. If you can, take your time and work with people you know and truly trust and stay away from strangers.

FWIW, Johnny Holiday published three books:

Position Play for Hi-Runs, in 1973
Encyclopedia of Pocket Billiards, in 1977, and
Continuous Hi-Runs in 1984

Welcome to the best forum for pool in America, Meemer! Sorry for your loss. One of the consequences of life is losing special friends along the way.. My condolences to you, all his friends and family.

I’d urge you to keep what ever is dearest to you first then move the rest if you feel it’s necessary.

What a wonderful first post! Possibly the best I’ve ever read on AZ. I spent a lot of time in Wisconsin and always stoped at the Cheese Castle. Best selection of hot sauce anywhere!

I wonder if your Dad ever played Frank Stellman from Racine? Also known as Sailor. Another pool character from your neck of the woods.

Thank you for sharing your story and being a member here. We need more feminine input more than you could possibly imagine!!

Good luck, be well and be happy!!!

I'm sorry about your dad passing so early. Looks like he had a great place to hang out and play pool and relax. There are several knowledgeable collectors on here, Original paper items like posters , and letterheads cards advertisements can have good value, the reproductions, are usually only worth what someone is willing to pay for them, to keep from having to search, and bid on ebay.
Unfortunately billiard collectables are not in the same league with baseball, football, and other sports, {except rare cues} and some antique tables and equipment.
Good luck and good memories.

best shot is to put them up in small batches on ebay.

unless you find a collector that will take it all from you. that way the work is gone but so is some of the value.

most of what i see is stuff individuals might want pieces of the collection for their own room.

One of y'all help out here. What is the name of the member who always posts about collecting pool balls? I would suggest that Meemer contact him via the "Conversation" feature. I cannot vouch for him, but my impression from here is that he is straight up. I feel he will help by valuing, buying, or directing.

I am sorry for your loss.

Nevermind . . . I found some initiative and scrolled and searched and found the name -- he is "Rubik's Cube". I went ahead and alerted him. I am sure he will show up shortly.

Meemer, take some close-up photos of the pool balls. I am certain you will need them shortly,

Sorry for your loss. From the looks of his lair your father seemed to be a really cool guy.

It is hard to find. If you sell it through Ebay you can probably get around $50 for it in that condition but it may take a while. The marks and water damage subtract from the value for collectors. Did you ever meet Johnny Holiday?

The sets of balls are probably worth a lot more. It's hard to tell what you have from the pictures.

I never met him no, and I have sold a few sets but i have so many to still sell it’s insane. Maybe I will just make a post on the for sale section on here with all of them. I have one set I can’t find anything on. It’s called Starball. Have you ever Heard of it?

Okay thankyou so much!

Sorry for your loss. That's an impressive looking poolroom. As Jay noted, some of those pictures on the wall may be valuable.

Thank you, yours made me smile too.

Be careful with your Dad’s collection. There are lots of folks motivated by greed and do not share your connection to his life like you.

An appraiser might be an option if you’re unsure of the value of his collection. Original posters could have greater value than you might imagine.
