In all fairness to Lomax, I haven't tried one of his, but of the various ones I have tried, I like the Jacoby jump cue the best.

On the bar box I like my Chilton Flying Eagle. The jump section of my Omen j/b works fine on the big table.

For those that have used both, which is better? Jacoby or Lomax?

I heard the Lomax uses a Bungee Jump tip, same one found on the jump cues by the same name.

Also, does anyone have any input as to which is best as far as more front end mass or less? The lightweight front end, including the Predator and others have the philosophy that the lighter the better since it gets out of the CB's way faster allowing the CB to begin it's take off. The high end mass folks (myself so far) like the brass ferrules because the cue deflects less of the CB, the CB moves more. I've always jumped a lot easier with brass ferrule jumpers. But I could be very wrong about this as physics don't lie.

The Mezz has both a brass and phenolic ferrules.

I have used both and I prefer the Jacoby with the 2 piece handle it works great close and for a long jump. It is easy to use and I think it has better control then alot of others I have tried. I am not brand specific this is just my opinion from an average player.

I never owned one till I purchased a Pred. Air a few months back I mostly jump with my Phillippi but honestly what really set the Pred. apart from the others for me was the extra length....better control. As for which is the best on the market I have no idea....now days they can pretty much all jump ridiculously close to a blocking ball.

The differiences probably matter only in regards to HOW you jump, wether its light and quick or tight and power....some complain about the Pred being to light but frankly I don't give a dam lol.....its a jump cue nothing more than a red headed step child lol.

Another vote for Lomax. I've had many, many - including a Pred Air. The Lomax is the first I've had that made me really expect to be successful every time. Mine has a Samsara JB tip. The extra length lets it work from all kinds of distances, and either darting or overhand grips. Compared to the Lomax, I wouldn't walk across the room to use anything else I've ever tried.

I may be wrong, but the reason Lomax uses the bungee tip is because well he is the original designer of those jump cues as well as the creator of the bungee tip, but don't quote me on that.

I'm surprised that nobody mentioned the Stealth AT-1 Air Jumper...the only jumpcue that comes standard with a leather tip,,,and 3-piece construction... all weighing in at 8 oz., and very economical, at $100 or less. It's been my standard for 10 yrs.

Good jump cue

James Hanshew makes a hellva jump cue. Purple heart shaft with a 2 piece but for long and short jumps. And he is very reasonable price. I've had mine 2 yrs now with no problems and or defects. I think he gets 130 to 150 for them.

I've got an old [10 yrs?] graphite eliminator j/b with a white diamond tip. It is beyond a doubt[in my mind] the best jumper I've ever used. It wasn't bad to begin with but the white diamond turned it into a wand!
