Hey guys, I'm looking to purchase a dedicated jump cue. Any recommendations? I have my eye on a predator air jump, any thoughts?

I don't think they make the Predator Air anymore, unless you can find a store with inventory left over. You could probably put up a WTB in the buy/sale forum if you were set on getting one. I really like them myself.

There are many good cues out there in different price ranges.

I personally have a Mark Bear Jump cue with purple heart shaft and a Stealth 3 piece jump cue. They both work well.

I have jumped a few balls with a Steve Lomax jump cue and it also works well.

Like many things in pool, I believe the technique is more important than a particular jump cue. My best recommendation to you is to try as many jump cues as you can till you find one you like.
 
There are several great jump cues out there and I have owned more than my share of them. If you are looking for a cheaper jump cue with outstanding performance try the elite jump cue, they cost about $47.00 and I can jump a cue ball at 1/2 balls distance from the ball I have to jump.
Like I said before there are several others out there that will do the job. If you are able to, try them out first. What works well for me may not suit you. Good luck.
 
I have a Bebot Bautista that will probably get the cue ball 1 foot! off the table! PM me if you want to know about it. Sorry, not for sale.
 
Lomax...worth the extra money. If you want a cheap alternative the Lucasi Jump cue is a little heavier than I like but jumps very well. I don't care for the predator air and since they aren't making them anymore I guess others don't either.
 
Worth the money Steve Lomax jump cue. Not only works well but fix an finish the best. An a very nice man. :smile:

Good recommedations already received. I would also add the Jacoby - inexpensive and very capable. I also have the Mark Bear Custom and am very pleased. From all I hear, the Lomax is a winner.
 
I'd also agree with Lomax. I am looking into buying one of them myself.

Just to through another out there, I think the Mezz airshooter is good too.

It is a four piece jump cue with 3 handles for any jump,
and it is unconditionally guaranteed. Nothing can jump
better. It has my new patented FT2 ferrule/tip and only

I agree with the Elite jumper at a pretty reasonable price. I know that this one is pretty popular and not very expensive. Let us know which cue you pick and what you think!

Mike, Is there a website where we can see one? Is the FT2 leather or other composite materials? 189.00 is a pretty healthy price for a jump cue!
Is there a video on it? and how good it works?
 
Jumpin cues

They almost all work the same. Stiff shaft, short and light. Best deal is to buy one at the big dance in Vegas. APA OR BCA. Some of those guys will give free lessons on how to jump when you buy one. Try your buddies and find one you like and don't forget there is a strong move to outlaw jumpers in lots of tourneys nowdays. Now don't take this wrong but learn how to kick. I own one but rarely use it and if I practice using it I get worse?!?! Personally don't like them but whatever floats your boat.
 
I have used a few different jump cues...and by far the easiest and most with control was the Predator Air. I made a full table jump 2 times in a row and made the shot both times. It was during a game and I was so amazed I had to try it again! I just got a Bebot...so I have to try it out but at this point the Predator for me hands down.
MY only issue with the predator was the shaft cracked at the joint after a month of use. I have to send it back to get it repaired but I'm sure it will be handled.
 
Larry miller jump cues are the nuts they jump amazing I've never used a lomax but I've used every thing from the cheap ones to a bungee and a predator air and the Larry miller is hands down the best in my opinion you can jump balls real close or far away with ease with one of those things you won't be disappointed I wasn't
 
I bought a couple of J&J Jump cues from I4Pool here on AZ. They work GREAT. And ... Priced Right!
 
I just got the the Lomax in the mail today and I am totally impressed. The first time I tried I jumped no problem. I have a lot of practicing to do to get more consistent, but it is really cool and adds another part to my game.
