i know you didn't design this, because if you did it would be flashier.. so send it back to Dennis and have him take the yin and yangs out, they add nothing.

I beg to differ. The design is very unique but not for everyone. I doubt Mr. Searing would add a something just to fill a space.

I have always liked this cue...

Good Luck (not needed) on your sale,
Chris

oh it's a great cue don't get me wrong, for whoever ordered it with those things it prolly ment something..they just don't match the larger inlays and clash with the style. i know Dennis can do no wrong so I'm blaming the person who ordered the cue new.
"Do the right thing and cover the yang" lol put some 8 balls or something in there. Send it to Painter for some ivory dots..that's an old one there, see who remembers that.
Great work in this cue

Some how I ended up owning this cue now.

It sure is well made, I havent hit a ball with it yet, The shafts I have look new, I think they are not origonal, because when you screw the cue together there is a compression fit at he joint-like Balabushka, Black Boar and some Szam's. You can see wear on the wood when the cue has been taken apart and put together many times, on the shafts I have it isnt shiny or discolored like it is on my Boar and REALLY is on some Bushkas that have seen more use. The leather wrap on this cue is amazing, its Kangaroo and looks like Balabushka put it on, its hard to see the seam.

I never owned a Searing until now, i'm impressed, very impressed. I knew he makes great cues, I held this cue about 18months ago at the US Open, but I didnt do a deal on it back then. Funny how things come around again. I'm real excited to see how it plays, I put it together and its a bit heavy, it might be too much cue for me on Shitmonis cloth, God I wish we could go back to Stevens cloth, the nap cloth where you had to have a good stroke to move the CB, not this pitty-pat pool on billiard cloth used on pool tables.

I'll make a post on it later after I use this cue for a while, Its about as fancy as I like for a daily player, the cue I have used the past 2.5 years is way to fancy for me as a daily player, but it plays so good I doubt I'll ever stop using it. I do like to mix it up and switch cues for a week if I'm in a slump. This cue will be used for sure.

Eric

If you are describing the tight nature of the shafts coming together with the joint, thats normal with all Searing cues. Dennis has higher tolerances than anyone else when it comes to construction. The shaft is more than likely original by what you are describing.

I even had a Uni-loc jointed Searing that did the same thing...amazing.

Eric, I can't wait to see how you think it plays. When i owned it, I did not want to put it down. The hit is so sweet and the balance. It is the best cue that i have ever played with. I am getting out of cue hobby, That is why i sold it back Kenny. I will not let her go if i am still in collecting cues....Good luck with it, I am sure you will like it for a long long time to come.
Regards
Peter
