Just got kicked out from tourney

Your strategy was all wrong. This tourney was too easy, and you viewed it as free money. Come on? 17 out of 21. With that in mind, to not get kicked out you should have taken some 2nds, 3rds, and 4ths....spread the wealth a bit while still making some money on your investment. You don't slaughter the lambs...you sheer them. You've got to feed a fish. Lesson learned for the future.

Well I get the idea of playing your best, and wanting to win.

Vince Lombardi the great football coach said winning is not everything, it is only thing.

See zero reason to not win. Winning 17 put of 20 try’s said also the guy lost 3 times.

17/21 seems like harder mathing, but it isn't. It is just one more.

You were so close...this time.

Didn't you literally tell me I should have sandbagged???

I did you played well, got high Fargo number, now you have limited choices of tournaments to play.

Well to Arizona, was same way under Arizona Rating System.

Higher your rating went few tournaments open to you.

So what is your Fargo?
Sure we can get you in action.

I don't even play anymore and I'd try you.

What's your percentage when not inspecting? And what sort of percentage would they consider acceptable? If someone's not over 50% they are better off deferring the break.

Yeah, that's expensive racking practice.
Probably around 50% with the racks I receive there depending upon the player because some rack better than others. The thing is I never ask for a re-rack, even if the rack is total garbage. Asking for re-racks with some of these players just causes major trouble...

If I am playing a really good player however, and they give me a bad rack they are definitely going to be re-racking until it is acceptable because I understand what they are trying to do....neuter my break....

You never want to defer the break. If you cant make a ball then you just want to make sure you dont open them up completely and make sure you dont try to get a shot on the 1.

Story of my life. I’m dead money against solid players and can rob all the B players with ease. It’s that “in the middle speed”, I can’t get there in open tourneys and I too was barred from all the B player tourneys. So I stopped playing in any of them and just stuck to action.

It’s in between speed-it’s a lonely place.

Best of luck,
Fatboy <———hates being in the middle

However winning 17/21 you should be bumped up. I’m amazed they let you rob that tourney that many times. Sounds like the TD was asleep.

I’ve been barred from tourneys just because the TD watched me play. At the end of the day when you play that strong what’s the point? Unless your broke? And you said your not, so move up. I get it-being dead $ sucks too. But it is what it is. So can’t stand tourneys for that reason. Action and matching up is best-only your customer can quit you and you are your own boss.
I'm in the same situation as far as robbing the B players with ease (most of the time anyways) but against the true A players I lose. I haven't been banned from the B tournaments though. But they did put that rule in to restrict my break...

A “true” A player I can’t beat. A weak A player I can beat(sometimes) any B player, the greatest B player is a walk for me. Well when I was playing-right now a C player might be difficult 😂.

It’s the curse of the in between speed, catch a gear and look real strong for 15 minutes and knock any action that may have been……I understand all too well

Best

Have a talk with the tournament director. You might be able to strike a deal. If you win, you can donate your winnings back to the players? The venue? To charity? How bad do you want to play in it? I know you are just doing it for fun. Make it fun.

i had a really good player tell me players like being described are "just good enough"
just good enough to think they have a chance
and then get robbed by a REALLY good player

You just described my game. I can play rather sporty at times. Then just all of the sudden lose all of my fundamentals. I just try my best and see how far I can go.

Sorry, I didn't read every post, so perhaps this has already been answered, but how much money is each player putting in? How much is paid out? What size table? What's the race to?

So then your statement "See zero reason to not win" was BS?

I do plenty of larger tourneys where I get my ass kicked on the regular. I'm no monster. This was a fun tourney though where I made lots of new friends.
If it's the social you're after, volunteer to ref, or help run the thing. 17 out of 21 sounds like taking advantage.

You win 17 out of 21 tournaments with a full 32 player field every week and you don’t understand why they don’t want you back?

Yes, it sounds like they should handicap you and only you to the extreme that you would eventually stop coming.

The TD should have done something about this situation a long time ago.
Back in the day the handicap would have involved his thumbs.

So then your statement "See zero reason to not win" was BS?
You twisted statement, what I was referring to was your complaining about your Fargo, you showed you true speed, and now complain about being left with few options to compete.

Maybe you need move to State with only open play. Or just play open events, and chill.

This works in reverse recreational players for most part avoid open events, because they know they have zero chance of playing in money.

All they are doing is loosing, why would you sign up to loose?

Since there was only one local/rural tournament with decent full-sized equipment, I mostly played there. After I had won 7 or 8 in a row, I hinted to the director that maybe he should start handicapping. THAT was about when I started to become overconfident, and began losing (story of my life).

Nobody twisted your statements. Easy-e mentioned that many tournaments are no longer available to him because he has been too successful and as a result gotten a fairly high Fargo rating. You then told him that was a good reason that he should have instead intentionally chosen to lose on purpose some of the time so he could keep his rating down. Hours later you tell Matt_24 that you understand (and inferred agreement with) always wanting to play your best and win, and you see zero reason not to always try to win (right after giving easy-e a reason why he shouldn't always try to win).

Those are contradictory statements. You are far from the first person who ended up contradicting themselves because they didn't think things out well enough, but at least have the self awareness to realize it and admit it when it is pointed out to you. The relevant posts showing your clear contradiction are below:
Well maybe you blew it when you move to Valley not slowing down, and sand bagging.

Should have ask before showing off.🤭
