Was hoping we would have heard something about a potential matchup....

I saw on facebook Corey stepped up with bar-table 8-ball, rack your own with a wooden rack--and I think Justin was good with it but wants magic rack.... Stay tuned.

Please no bar table action.

Plenty of players near Justin's equal on the bar table.

If the Rack is holding things up we'll that hilarious!!

Don't be so loose with someone else's money...a rack can be important....
...especially when you're negotiating with Corey.

True. I remember a few yrs back Corey saying anyone can get the 8 ball playing 9ball on a bar box. That's pretty strong !!

Any word on this thread drying up. Corey offered an 8 ball game and Bartrum came out is semi retirement wanting to bet it up. Both being Ohio boys ready to rumble !!

Looking to bet big as long as it's not someone he's likely to lose to?

And no one is stepping up?

Imagine that!

I wonder why he is unwilling to play any players from the Philippines.

Would he really have no chance against many of the top players from there?

I remember that he did beat Orcollo, but it was just an exhibition match, right?

10 on the wire going to 100!!! That's no gaff game. Where the hell is Morris, Oscar, Sky, and 3 or 4 others? I can't believe no one has taken this game. Johnnyt

They're all around, the correct question is where's the CHEEZ @ !!!!!!

Correct, and he will admit it.

Key word, exhibition. Second consideration was a relatively short race at his home room.

I'd love to see him play one of the young touring Filipino players. I'm not talking Orcullo or even biado but more like the guy dodong diamond that's at Maryland state 8 ball or Jeff de Luna or Johan Chua. Playing those guys in the phillipeans is prolly a bad game but playing here on a fresh table shouldn't be to far from a tough game on both sides.

I know you guys that post here regularly are pool fans. But in the gambling world,no american pool player other than shane, are ever gonna play a phillipino pool player even for the cash in 9-10 ball. Bergman has even said that here. If you "do not understand that" then you haven't gambled much or seen many pinoys play for the money. Any American knows they need weight playing any top 10 phillipino ( chua, biado, gomez, cortezza, etc...) no American will EVER play these guys even, unless some stakehorse that just wants to give their money away, puts them in the box. Seriously folks, its ok to be a patriot, but we aren,t close to even with the pinoys, chinese,or taiwanese players.not close. I once heard chamat say that he went to the phillipines and played just to get better( chamat at that time was close to bergmans speed) he was actually talking to dechaine at the time, and he said when he got up and left his room each morning, that there was 10-20 pinoy teenagers waiting outside to offer him the 7 in 9 ball for money. These are pinoys that can,t get off the island and you will never see or hear from. There are literally about 100 guys in the phillipines that will play any American (except shane) and they will definitely be favored in a long match against any American. Probably 30 or so will be favored over bergman. It's truly a different level of play. Our players will tell you the same if put on the spot.

Earl wouldn't have taken a spot from anyone. Don't call yourself a pro if you do. Also, offering the 7? lol how often have you seen a pro get to the 7 and not out? It's a nothing spot...if anything its a disadvantage because you don't get into stroke as easily..let's see games on the wire.

Corey is from pa.

That is value added from 10+ yrs of azbeeee

Salt City Billiards will host JB to play anybody in the Turning Stone field. I'd pickup hotel costs for him locally and we can livestream the action. I for one would love to see JB and Shaw play.

That would be awesome. I would love to see that match.

I don't understand why pros take spots from other pros? If you are a pro this is your job...if you were a plumber...would you ask another plumber to lower his prices so you can compete with him? lol

I would rather lose than take a spot from anyone.

That is a good point. There is no honor in winning with a spot. Who cares about honor though, right? It is only about the cash. It seems like the players would take any advantage possible for a better chance at winning (like pattern racking for example). Or, the soft break (so boring to watch).

Ya I don't get it...cash is more important than honor. The other player is basically saying..."oh are you too scared to play me? How about we make it easier for you then?"

Might as well just hand over your wife or gf to him while you're at it.

I'll never understand why some of the top pros don't just plan a trip where they hit multiple pool rooms around the country. Give the cities a little notice, post your schedule on Facebook, AZB, etc, and then play races to 5 with locals for $50-$100 until their arms fall off. Seems like an easy way to move around and pick up free money. I bet they can even find people in each area that would gladly host them for a night or two while they're in town.

I wonder what the least amount any known pro would be willing to play for. If I were to walk up to Alex Pagulayan (for example), and ask him if he would play some sets for cheap. How cheap would he play for it to be worth his time? $100 a set (short races to 7, 9 ball)? That may not even be enough. It is free money (for maybe 20 or 30 minutes of their time), but I still wonder. I have read that Efren is willing to play for cheap. That would be a cool experience.

Coz they dont like having to come with it for chump change?

100$? Shitt...i make that in a day and a halfs work.
:eek::thud:

Yeah, but 2 $50 sets (races to 7, 9 ball) would not take more then an hour (unless they have to play some incredibly slow playing opponent). That is $100 an hour (guaranteed).

Who's going to want to play a pro even?

If I had the money to gamble (actually give away), then I would be happy to play some of my favorite players for cheap sets of 9 ball. It would be a great honor for me. Who knows, maybe they might give me a little free advice on my game after the match.
