A round robin is not a good idea.....
...they stopped using this format in the world 9-ball championship for a reason.

Nobody gives a shit about a televised tournament - you wanna find out who the best is, lock them in a room for 2 or 3 weeks.

Actually, I could care less who is best, but I want to watch the match. Plus there is more money in exposure than gambling. Pool players generally dont like to acknowledge this however, which is why they usually die broke.

I think PT109 was referring to major dumpage - which is prevalent in round robin formats - even with other sports

In a round robin format, there can be a point where someone else's win or loss can affect your placing and not his.
I didn't see this before. After reading it all I can say is that offer is "Stronger Than Soap!" He is offering any American player (besides Shane) ten games on the wire at Eight Ball or Ten Ball going to 100. This man really is looking to gamble. I'm surprised there are no takers on this offer.
