Do you think great players that are slow play great because they are slow or in spite of it?
Like I said...unnecessary.
Cliff Thorburn is the best snooker player that ever came out of Canada...
...people used to complain about his style of play....
...I used to tell them "Bet on him...and you'll realize what a good horse you got your $$ on."
....and many saw what I meant.
I feel about the Bergman the same way...bet on him...you'll like it.
Not sure what you are looking for but if you have ever watched golf and watch some of the great pro's walk around the hole 4 or 5 times taking 30 to 45 seconds at each stop before they shoot. Golf has millions of spectators and no problems about the slowness.
Each player has a different style to achieve his or her point, Its the ones that can execute to almost perfection is the difference of playing slow or playing to win. I don't think Justin is in the top 3 in the US because he is slow, I think he in the top 3 because he executes what he see's to almost pure perfection.
Pay attention to some of the other pro's they are doing just what Justin is doing. Each time I watch I learn something that helps me improve my game.
One more thing, if you want to watch some slow playing...watch John Mora. I might add you will also see some of the best patterns played, shot making and unbelievable runout's. Or come to Peoria IL and watch Bobby McGrath (no slouch either) one of the fastest players in the world...and has a tad bit of accuracy too.

I hate slow play. It's annoying and completely unnecessary.
Not to single you out...
But who are we to decide what is right for another? What if you were told your timing needed to be 1/5 less or 5x longer than you are comfortable with?
He isn't in violation of any rules and until he is, there is no reason to think we can justify commanding him to change.

Oh, and I think you can totally justify asking a player to speed up in certain situations.
If these guys were gambling in a back room with no cameras, then they can take 30 minutes to shoot a shot for all I care. But when the cameras are rolling and people are paying to watch and hopefully be entertained, well then I think you have to say something. In my opinion , there are only two types of spectators when it comes to slow players
1. Those who can't stand them. (me)
2. Those who can tolerate them.
But I don't think anyone purposefully purchases a stream like this in the hopes one or both players takes 2 minutes on every shot.
Exact type of posts the Pro's love to hear about, and then avoid AZB at all costs. So, you don't like his play, so the fug what? IF I could play as well as him, I'd play even slow while wear a thong![]()
And you'd be the reason this sport has such a low spectator count.
True, but how do you like to PLAY a slow player lol?
You can single me out. I'm a big boy. After all I am singling out all of the dreadfully slow players out there. Not only Justin, who by the way, is an amazing player. I'm not taking that away from him.
Do some research on the subject, and you'll find there are various reasons that a player might play slow. Not limited too
1. New to the game/Uncertain about the shot
2. Lack of confidence
3. Sharking tactic
Do any of those sound like Bergman to you?
