truth, i dont know if it slows down the table or not.
but in order to prove this how many cubes of kamui chalk have you used on your table?

I have been using it and it does work well but the cost, is it really worth it. What i would really like to know is Why is it so expensive? I heard a question asked about eye glasses and the very high cost of the frames. The mark up is very high ... The question was "why are the frames so expensive", the answer "because people will buy them"
Seriously Why is this chalk so expensive?![]()
That's why I buy my glasses at Zenni Optical for $25 Complete.![]()
I have come to the conclusion that Kamui Chalk is one of the greatest
scams in history, on par with the Emperor's New Clothes.
I guess we have to add ruin's tables to the list now. Just got home from the pool hall after playing a few hours with the chalk that ruin's tables and couldn't be happier, mainly because I didn't loose or forget it. I keep looking at the cue ball and don't see any more or less chalk marks while using the stuff. The rare times I do chalk I blow off the excess before I start.
Don't ya think that if some one believes it is ruining the play of his home table then discussion is warranted and not bullying.
I'm not saying it's a bad product. I'm saying it's a ridiculously priced
product. The cost percentage markup between a piece of Blue Diamond
and Kamui chalk is about 900%. Has your shot accuracy improved 900%
with Kamui chalk over Blue Diamond? It's an insane cost to result ratio.
If we were talking about about something of more substantial value, you
would see the insanity of the whole thing. It would be like buying a Tiger
Ultra X Shaft for $200 and Predator charging $2,000 for a 314 shaft.
Do you think anybody would pay $1800 more for the Predator shaft and
wouldn't you think them foolish to do so. It's the exact same formula on
a smaller scale.
I can buy a steak at Ponderosa for $5 or I can buy a steak at Peter Luger's for $50, wanna guess which one I'll enjoy more?
For me, I have no problem spending $30 to make my $1200 cue play better. If it wasn't worth $30, I wouldn't... But I can tell you, for me, its very much worth it. It grips the cueball better than anything.
It's not easy following grandpa smurf around waiting for him to fart so kamui can collect that sought after blue dust.

That's a delicious steak, that's not a fair comparison. :nono:
I always said the price is redonkulas but again if it helps your game and feel that spending that 30 helped you win 3000, then hell all the power to ya.I thought about buying a piece when I play in the Canadians and use it as a undercoat just to play it safe.I think it depends on how serious a player is to justify paying the cost. All I'm saying is, some people cannot afford $30, mostly because it's always been free. Kinda like when a new player cannot believe a cue cost $500+ when they have em on the wall to use free. But just like a cue, kamui chalk cannot be compared to master chalk, or even blue diamond. It's just so different. It shouldn't be called chalk at all.
I don't care about the miscue thing. I don't have a problem with that, never have. But I feel I shoot straighter when using english with this chalk and win more now than before. I don't know the numbers but my winning percentage is much higher than before. Not 900%, but more than before. And when you play for money, $30/cube is well worth it.

As much as I've had the price issue, you see this all the time with tons of products like Cleary said.A car thats a half a million dollars seems nuts to buy for an average person but for a billionaire its chump change.I think if people will pay for it,so be it.The average person wastes their money onThat's a nice way to justify it. Some people can't "afford" it??? Some people were "born" with horse sense...and some were not. It's a myth, urban legion.
What would your grandparents say, an era when most people had a level head on their shoulders. "Son, do you have sense enough to pour piss out of a boot"?
"Son, do you have sense enough to pour piss out of a boot"?
The piece I tried 2 years ago was harder to take off the table. It was the reason I stopped. It only took a day to make that decision.I don't know what that would prove. I use blue diamond chalk and have to clean my table everyday to remove the dust. I wonder how you clean a table that has Kamui chalk embedded in the cloth. Does it vacuum out, can it be wiped off. I wouldn't know, and since my home table is an investment the idea of using an unknown substance that could possibly ruin the cloth is out of the question. show me![]()
