Kamui Chalk......slowing your table down?

I have come to the conclusion that Kamui Chalk is one of the greatest

scams in history, on par with the Emperor's New Clothes. I believe in

capitalism and believe they have the right to charge whatever they want for

their blue cream, but more importantly I believe in common sense. :scratchhead:

It is obvious to all who actually observe, common sense is currently over rated . . .

Common sense is not that common any more. This is the first time anyone has posted this. If you feel it is true, then it must be a possibility. I can see a ton of Kamui left on the cue ball. After I finish league for the evening, the cue ball is plastered with blue dots.

Now, those little blue dots must be rubbing off on something, most likely your cloth.

I retract my first post.

I was just reading the ingredient list on the Kamui wrapper and just found

out that it contains Fairy Dust and Magic Bean Extract. Had I known it

contained these rare ingredients I would have never made such an ignorant

statement about a $30 piece of chalk. :killingme:

Are you talking about the .98 or the new 1.21? I used the 1.21 and found that it didn't stick to the cue ball at all.

I will add something else. Tonight is the second time in a tad over a month of using Kamui chalk that I found my tip was glazed and wouldn't hold the chalk worth a darn.

I am using Black King tips and have not had this problem using Pre Flag Master.

Also, I keep the chalk in its bag when not in use. All four corners of the chalk have turned white. Now when I chalk properly across the face of the chalk, when it hits the corner, I get white streaks on the tip. Now, maybe its the same (hope so) material but when I chalk my cue, I want to see blue, not white. Its a little disconcerting. I hope that when it turns white that it is not deteriorating.

I don't think I should have to wear my tip down unnecessarily by scuffing
twice in a bit more than a month just for the privilege of using Kamui.

I can assure you that this hasn't happened using regular chalk.

You clearly have never given it a fair try... It seems to be too pricy for you because you keep bringing up "$30". That's fine, not everyone has $30 to spend I guess. But I do and after months of play, all I can say is if you knock it, then you must not have tried it. It's the best chalk out there.

Touche! It's the 21st century, there can't be many more "magic exliers" left?

PRACTICE!

I did knock Kamui chalk without trying it based on Price alone which to some may be a tad bias so I finally got a chance to try some.I thought it felt like some sort of lip gloss but felt like i was putting silk over the tip cause it felt soft. Now I will admit I didn't miscue but I rarely miscue anyways ,cause I know how to stroke the ball:smile:.I didn't feel like I spun the ball any different and I still chalked every shot because thats part of my routine, that's been enforced by any teacher of the game for decades''Chalk after every shot".
Now between Kamui and Blue Diamond are the only 2 chalks I've used that marked up my spotted ball so bad they won't come out.
I can't use Magic eraser on the cueball cause it takes all the finish off the ball. This leads me to believe that there's a substance in these 2 chalks that is so abrasive that it goes right into the finish of the ball.I've never had this happen with Masters the old or the new!
At the end of the day if Kamui chalk is going to make you feel better mentally while playing the game then all the power to ya.I guess there's no price tag on keeping your sanity at the table!

I'm not saying it's a bad product. I'm saying it's a ridiculously priced

product. The cost percentage markup between a piece of Blue Diamond

and Kamui chalk is about 900%. Has your shot accuracy improved 900%

with Kamui chalk over Blue Diamond? It's an insane cost to result ratio.

If we were talking about about something of more substantial value, you

would see the insanity of the whole thing. It would be like buying a Tiger

Ultra X Shaft for $200 and Predator charging $2,000 for a 314 shaft.

Do you think anybody would pay $1800 more for the Predator shaft and

wouldn't you think them foolish to do so. It's the exact same formula on

a smaller scale.

It's not easy following grandpa smurf around waiting for him to fart so kamui can collect that sought after blue dust.

I can play straight pool to 100 and chalk one time at the start. It plays the same for me as any other chalk. As for the chalking routine, I got over it. No muss no fuss chalking all the time. I love the stuff. Much cleaner hands and shaft also. I know the Kamui chalk haters are just enjoying themselves doing what they do best (hating). Sad how many people thrive on being negative. They look and sound like idiots to me. Best 30 bucks I ever spent.

Don't ya think that if some one believes it is ruining the play of his home table then discussion is warranted and not bullying.

I have been using it and it does work well but the cost, is it really worth it. What i would really like to know is Why is it so expensive? I heard a question asked about eye glasses and the very high cost of the frames. The mark up is very high ... The question was "why are the frames so expensive", the answer "because people will buy them"

Seriously Why is this chalk so expensive?
