KAMUI TIPS - do you like them??

Tried all the brown and black Kamui tips, gave them a chance, and did not find one that I could honestly say that I liked.

As far as the Triangles being medium or hard or medium/hard, in every box one might find soft, medium, or hard consistensies. Tweeten has been doing better at making tips, as the last pile of boxes of Le Pros, Triangles, and Elk Masters I have gone through have shown some improvement in quality control.

Love the black ones(hard and medium), hate the brown ones(at least the medium brown one).

Switch to ultra skin better tip 1 eighth the price

I know this might be slightly off topic although it is still on the subject of Kamui tips, my question is can you get Kamui tips by the box rather than just singular the same way you can with the like of the triangle & le pro tips?.

Ask John Bertone who is the US rep, I imagine he has contacts for Europe that would help you out. Either that or ask a distributor like CueStix.

I've had a Kamui SS black for a few months now and so far it is my favorite tip for a play stick. I also use their Gator Grip tool, which really does what it says. It just "lifts" the leather rather than completely remove it. So, I have had no glazing problems and feel this tip will last a good amount of time.

Highly over rated and priced. Every dog has its day and now with the Black King and Ultra Skin tips on the market, people will find out that there are better tips and reasonably priced out there for the taking.

Thats all you have to do is try one and find out.

The owner of Ultra Skin offers special deals to AZ members.

In my area, I can count the players on one hand that use Kamui tips.

I can't say the same for players who are using Ultra Skins.

Excellente !

My experience is they perform very well. Top notch tips (IMO) They do initially have 1 minor drawback which can be easily corrected, and the positive aspects far outway the minimal draw-back. They also tend to run a little harder than advertised.

had a kamui ss brown. tip mushroomed like crazy and chipped. switched to a tiger soft and wont buy a kamui tip again. tiger has yet to mushroom on me and i have had it on longer than the ss tip and i feel it hits softer as well

Guess I'm a Tiger Guy . . .

i used a black soft about a year ago and it glazed over way too often and i replace it when half used. went to a sniper and then an onyx....like the sniper the best so far. maybe the newer kamuis are better, i do not know. i have to change tips next month and am open to try something maybe better

I like the Emerald - great $4 tip for my house cues. Saw Mike Massey at an exhibition this spring - got to play him too - told me he was using the Emerald and thought it was a real good tip.

I've used Snipers for years - great all-around premium tip - it does all things well - shape, no mushroom, no de-lam, holds chalk, works the ball.

Tried a Kamui Black . . . good, but not so good. It does glaze and requires more maintenance - at least with the blue diamond chalk.

I was stretched out buying Sniper's for $12 or so, but I'm not going any higher then that for a tip.

Just ordered some Milk Duds for $6 to see what that's all about . . . guess I'm working my way back down the food chain.

I've used the Kamui Brown Medium, Black Super Soft and Black Soft. So far I like the Black Soft the best, although I do remember the Brown Medium wasn't bad at all.

Kamui is evolving their tip construction and their quality keeps getting better and better.

Like others; in the past, I had my Black Super Soft glaze over but a minor tip conditioning with the Gator Tool or the play4ever tool makes it all good. NEVER any mushrooming.

kamui by the box
