i had a tip put on my cue last week and during our conversation the subject of kamui chalk came up.
he said he sells it and cant keep it in stock, its sold as fast as it comes in. after he put my tip on he chalked it with his personal cube of kamui chalk.
i promptly went to the table and played one of my teamates 3 racks of 8 ball.i never rechalked during those 3 racks and i never miscued. i used english and draw several time during those 3 racks. i couldnt play like that without miscuing using regular chalk.
i am going to bite the bullet and buy a cube this week.
i wish i knew what thread it was where a poster made a very good point . i dont know the exact quote but he regarded there was no difference between some buying 25.00 kamui over .25 master vs some one buying a 3,000.00 custom over a 300.00 viking.
now i happen to have a 5,000.00 custom as well as a 500.00 viking in my case . does the custom play 4,500.00 better than my viking ? definitely not but it sure draws attention whenever i pull it out of the case. last night at league the owner of billiard pro shop here in memphis saw it leaning against the table and came over and asked if he could look at it , i said sure. he said he liked it and asked if i would be willing to make a deal for any cue he had, i politely said thanks but no thanks lol.
back to the chalk. is 45.75 more than master worth the price ? i dont know but from my limited experience it definitely is better as far as adhering to the tip.
