KD cues player Brandon Shuff beats Earl the Pearl

And now, as of a few minutes ago, I heard Mike Dechaine just broke and ran the set against Archer. 8 & out. Wow.

Lotsa wow since I last checked here...and thanks for the score, Brandon!

Now who has a pic of Shuff's KD? :slap:

Congrats on Brandon for beating Earl!!

As for the KD cue, Brandon showed it to me and I hit a few with it at the 10 ball tourney at All Stars not long ago. The workmanship in the cue was fantastic. Fit, finish, balance and hit were all really great....very, very nice looking cue, too. Brandon said he loved it, and felt that it had improved his game.

CAN anyone post pictures of the cue ?
If you want a better photo of the cue, when I get home I can look through my raw pics and see if one of the shots I took focuses more on the cue. The only two photos I posted that I was actually concentrating on the cue being showcased were one of Earl with his six foot long cue +/-, and Lou F's Gina Cue. This was just a pretty good pic of Shuff I thought, and happens to show his cue somewhat...

I was talking to a friend of mine last night who is there, and we both agree that this tournament is being run the way all tournaments should be run, and that's with no seeding. You draw into whoever you draw into and then wing it from there.

Kahonies to Brandon for beating Earl on the TV table. I'm sure that will be highlighted in his career. Good shooting, Kid, but let's remember that Earl ain't the same Earl that is used to be. He might think he is, but he's not. Earl used to run fives and sixes every tournament match that he played back in the '80s. I don't see it anymore.

I do like the no seeding. Heard Johnny Archer went 8-nothing first round. It gives you a reality check. Everybody starting out even is the way it should be. Nobody should get a head start.

I agree with the no seeding. But try telling that to the wpba....Actually they should change thier name to the WCBA....

Keith,
I've heard of those five and six packs back in the day. In recent years, I seldom see five and six packs FROM ANYONE, in major tournaments.

Is the talent level that much less or is the equipment/table difference or something other, which makes the five and six packs look like something only from the past?

Earl won most of his titles on Gold Crown tables and the pockets were not as tight as they are today on Diamond tables. Earl's power game was better suited to the way Gold Crown tables played with the softer pockets. Earl's last and 5th win at the US Open was on a black Gold Crown table in 2000 and he hasn't won the Open since. Barry uses Diamond tables now instead of Gold Crown tables and Earl hasn't made it to the finals since the switch to Diamonds.

While I appreciate all Diamond done, I would like to see more majors played on Gold Crowns.

It seems I care more than the people at Brunswick though.

KD cues.....

Kent Davis is a great guy to talk to about cues. I have had good experience talking to him and he let me hit with some cues at the trade show and they hit great. And he knows a lot about how a cue hits and how to make it hit.

I think this is his cue. Super nice cue.

Almost the same, Brandon's cue has a steel sleeved joint with a titanium pin, curly maple forearm instead of birds eye, other than that everything else is the same
