Way to go EARTHQUAKE. You are playing AWESOME! Stay where you are. Don't live in the past and don't live in the future. Keep your mind on the process of playing well and avoid all thoughts of winning or losing.

Best Wishes,
JoeyA

Awesome about Keith... as JAM mentioned before, the IPT really lit a fire under him. That's great news!

I am also so proud of my friend Jon Smith... what a tournament so far! Keep it up, buddy!

Anybody have any info on payouts?

Thanks,
Steve

I was there. I was looking to be a fan of McCready, but his behavior, attitude, and treatment of Immonen in that match was a disgrace. His usual tipsy self couldn't rack a set of 9-balls straight or without gaps in the balls. I could see the gaps a few rows back in the stands. KM was petulent, childish, and condescending towards Mika when Immonen would ask him to re-rack. When Mika finally asked an official to look at the rack(s), KM whined about all the "slug" racks Mika had given him.

I wasn't pulling for anyone at the start of the match, but by the end you darn well bet your butt I was pulling for "the good guy" to win, and that wasn't KM.

You know, I was so excited to get home and post about the Joss/Turning Stone Casino tournament, along with some pics I took.

Some folks may not understand what players go through in the heat of the battle, and, yes, the racking was quite a dilemma, not only with Keith and Mika, but with other competitors as well at this event, like when Kim Davenport was on a hill-hill and his opponent made him re-rack the balls for 10 minutes, just to cite one example.

Some tables actually did rack better than others, and the table that Mika and Keith were playing on was difficult to get the balls in the rack tight, which happend again in earlier and later matches when a designated racker was assigned on several of the tables.

Here is a picture of Raj Hundal, Keith McCready, and Mika Immonen taken after the set, and for the record, Keith and Mika are friends on and off the table.

Sorry, Iacas, but there were no "bad guys" at this tournament, to include Keith McCready, but you're certainly entitled to your opinion, as am I.

I don't think so, unless you were sitting on the overhead lamp. It would be an impossibility for ANYONE to see the formation of the rack from any seat in the stands. What a jerk you are. If there is anyone who's a disgrace, it is you, Pal.

Wow, first time at a real tourney dude? This stuff happens all the time, but usually someone doesnt come to a pool forum and go off spouting holier then thou crap about it. But I have to say you are the first person on my ignore list for your bashing of a pool player. The next time you want to make yourself look like a bigger ass then u did in this post, I won't be reading it. Man are you the one that deletes peoples post if you don't like what they say?

First off i'd like to say congradulations to Keith greater and bigger things are in the future for Keith, so you may as well get used to it iacas. im really at a lost for words.why would anyone come into someones house and insult them as you did we here are like family members to Keith and JAM.i have no idea what your motive was to say such things, if it were for just plain meanness and stupidity on your part i think you made your point.if you were there you should have had the balls to say it to Keiths face instead of running back home and posting it here. i find this a very cowardly thing to do on your part.
YES im a Keith fan and proud of it.

I wasn't there, were you? I'm not agreeing with him but I will stand up for his right to his opinion, especially if he was there.

I like to hear an honest opinion from people who attend pool tournaments. I definitely don't want people declining to voice their opinions just because they're afraid someone here might not like it.

Oh, and one more thing, congratulations Keith! I've seen you play a couple of times live and have enjoyed watching you.

I saw you playing in Reno and a player called a cheap foul on you and you handled it like a gentleman!

i think you said the right word "HONEST". so if im wrong to question his HONEST opinion then i guess your must be wrong to question my HONEST opinion and JAM's as well.actually i wasnt questioning his opinion it was the attacks on Keith. and no i wasnt there and he was, but JAM was there and i think she gave a very HONEST opinion of what happened.

Sir, I only question your timing. Could this not have waited a day or two?

My daughter dances and to me she's the most wonderful dancer in the world. I'm being honest when I say that. Is my opinion a little biased? You bet it is!

If someone has an obvious axe to grind then I don't think their opinion is necessarily honest either. He said that he started out wanting to be a fan of Keith's, therefore, I think he gave an honest opinion. He may have come on a little stronger than he might have but I do believe he was being honest.

I have to wonder about his intentions considering he made multiple posts in multiple threads.

For me, it all goes back to the useless point of naming names. If Keith were the only pool player to ever pull this stunt, then maybe. This happens at every tournament. Luckily people don't feel the need to run to the forum after every tournament and complain about this.

I just think the way he went about it and his timing were in very poor taste. JMO

(Even if your daughter isn't the best dancer, I bet she's adorable! LOL, little girls in their dance outfits are too cute! :) )

There are 3 better solutions for racking:

1. Designated racker/referee
2. Sardo
3. Each player racks his own

Opponent racking method is prone to too much controversy, especially in the heat of the battle. Why do they stick with it? Are players too lazy to rack their own or what?

There are not 3 better solutions for racking:

1. Designated racker/referee Only good when there is the further rule that neither player may question the rack, once the racker deems it acceptable.
2. Sardo You are joking, right? I have played many events w/ Sardo, and it doesn't rack perfectly every time.
3. Each player racks his own Now I am laughing so hard it hurts! Just like one can rack to the detriment of the breaker, one can rack to the advantage of the breaker

Opponent racking method is prone to too much controversy, especially in the heat of the battle. Why do they stick with it? Are players too lazy to rack their own or what? See#3, above.
