Keith McCready MIGHT be coming out of retirement!?!

It would be fun to see you back those tier 2 guys against Henny. I think you would come out loser.

Sorry, im not a stakehorse. But Im sure there are stakers that would stake em.
I am not puttin hennys game down, I said he the top of tier 3, ranking him about 6/7 in the U.S. is not puttin the man down. Hes a great player, no doubt. I battled him a set about 13/14 years ago in Florida. I got mucho respect for hennys game.

It is posts like this that give me pause why Keith is even bothering to dance for anybody.

If he wants to do it for himself, fine, but I think members who write this kind of crap about somebody like Keith, who's been absent from the pool world and wants to step up to the plate again, is lame. You give him no credit. And it is an insult to Keith, not me, to be honest when you write crap like this, though it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that your post is more directed at me than Keith.

BTW, three offers have come in to play Keith in a large-scale production since all of this began. He must not be too decrepit to hold a cue stick in his hand. Hopefully, he can run three balls, though I realize this may be shocking to some people on this thread.

To think, I was going to take off from work for this, but on second thought, I will never put pool in front of anything in my life again, not even this. I was kind of excited at first, getting back on the pool tournament trail again. Now I could care less whether Keith plays again or not under these circumstances.

This has nothing to do with you, Mr. James Davis Jr. I respect you and hope you and Keith can meet in the middle. He's excited about playing, as was I. I hope he does play for himself, but not for anything that happened on this forum. People call him names and take potshots at him, only because they don't like me. It doesn't make sense to me, just as him playing pool for anybody on this forum is lame.

Thanks, MahnaMahna, for showing me the light. I was about to make a big mistake. You tried to insult Keith and me bot h, but instead, you've saved me a lot of grief, time, money, and effort.

Jennie,

With all due respect, I don't know why you choose to respond - be so sensitive - be so emotionally affected by knockers and haters. There's so many more good than bad people here on AZ and the pool world. Shake it off baby! You KNOW in your head and heart what is true.

May I ask - Do you SEE and FEEL how much the people would love to see Keith get in the box again? OMG!

Keith is an icon and a legend. So many people like me, and his peers, are very excited @ his return. In whatever he chooses to go for.

I say be there. I'd imagine that if you did go you would totally forget this douchebaggery and quickly be reminded of the things you love about the game. Remember she who laughs last laughs loudest.

Be close on a diamond, but Johnny would be a favorite on his shimmed up gold crown with weight, in my opinion.

Johnny beat Shane even 10-ball a couple months ago on TAR on a tight Diamond table so I don't think Shane can give up the 9-ball and like it. Shane is a phenomenal pool player but I can't see any one giving J.A. The 9-ball and liking it.

Dam I missed that post. People never fail to surprise me at what they post. Wonder if they are really that dam rude in person. I guess if it weren't for JAM sympathizing with the rest of us, we would not know nearly as much about Keith . Glad she doesn't punish us for their lack of any manners

Good post pete pool guy!

I didn't know Reed was in a car accident. :(

I'm trying to remember exactly when & what happened. I think it was 7 years or so ago & I remember hearing that he messed his back up pretty bad. He recovered ok from what I recall but I'm not sure what tournaments he's playing in, I know he hasn't been to the US Open 9 Ball in a long time. I think someone told me he has a pool hall with his brother in Jackson, Mississippi.

Though there is a pool table, it's more of a restaurant than a pool room. Here's the link: Reed Pierce's.

True dat, but I'm too old and tired to deal with it. I'd rather spend whatever years I have left on this earth doing things I enjoy and love. I do love Keith, but I'm not in love with pool anymore.

I made a vow to myself in July 2006 that I would never, never, never do anything that I did not want to do after I found myself sitting in a hotel room, missing my dog back home, sleep deprived, and in debt, crying my eyes out.

Keith is on his own as far as this action. He has had better offers in the last few days, though, to play from those who respect him as a player, well-known seasoned pros. If I were him, I'd weigh the opportunities carefully for his debut from coming out of retirement. He can play the sock puppet's fish anytime, but it's his call, not mine.

Thanks, Matt. I'm not getting involved in it anymore. It's just too draining on me physically, emotionally, and financially. I'm sticking close to home with my dog, my daughter, my job, my home, and my bank account.

As far as I'm concerned, I'd like to live happily ever after with Keith in my world, but I realize he's a thoroughbred racehorse that wants to get out of the barn and run. I can't stop him, and I won't stop him.

I have been there in the last few years. He has 2 9ft Diamonds and two or three 7' Diamonds. It's a sports bar with good food.

When I lived down there, there really wasnt any action. They had a league but that's it.

Our bet does not just disappear. Were on too don't forget.

I've never tried to weasel out of any bet. We are on with same reasonable stipulations. They play 9 ball or 10 ball even, they play in the near future, they are gambling and not an exhibition, Keith doesn't play another significant match before hand - obviously negating the fact that he is out-of-stroke.

There is no action to be had apparently... :duck:

Keith came in the poolroom last night, holding a two piece cue with a rubber band for a case. He walked in and stood by the main action table where there was a $20 ring game going on. Everyone looked at Keith and no one said boo. After the game was over, Keith asked if he could get in. No one said anything again so Keith went last the next game. He lost the first four games (it was now five handed) and was stuck $80. In the fifth game he got an open shot on the five ball and ran out. He was even.

Keith broke and ran four racks and two players quit. He ran two more racks and the game was over! Six racks and $440 to the good and Keith had busted the game. It took about 45 minutes max from the time he got in the game to make them all quit. UNBELIEVABLE! And I watched the whole thing. Then I woke up, what a drag.
