I've stated in another thread I'd pay $334 of KEITH'S $1,000 entry into the 2015 US open. I'll stand by to see how we do with sending the most famous poster(thank you) Keith, to the US OPEN.
I'M not collecting $$$$, I would hope JAM can help with this (hope I'm not being presumptuous) as she is one our the most trustworthy among us

What a kind offer! I can't wait for Keith to wake up and read this thread. I know it will warm his heart, as it has mine.

We are definitely looking into the logistics of this trip and hope to make it doable. The fact that this hotel is dog-friendly is a big plus for us. Our 3-year-old lab has never been alone, without us.

Our last lab, we put him in a boarding kennel when we went to the Open. We were gone for 8 days. When we returned, he had a horrible hotspot on his neck, which he has never had skin problems before. We had to take him to the vet immediately. Though it cost $350 for the vet, I was more upset that this boarding kennel did not take better care of him. We paid extra for him to have extra walks, et cetera. Anyway, never again will we leave our dog at a boarding kennel, so Mickey goes with us now.

The 40th anniversary is going to be a special one. I know the field will fill up. There's something really cool about having a pool tournament in the same place where you are staying. It's really comfy to be able to go up to your room between matches, taking breaks, inviting friends in to hang out and laugh. I miss those times. There is a camaraderie in our pool world that is quite unique between shooters of all caliber. We are all members of the Tribal Nation of Pool. No other sports affords this kind of closeness. Whether a railbird or a competitor, this Open will be one that will go down in the history books, I think, as one of the best ever. Man, right on the beach too. I can feel that warm ocean breeze blowing through my hair now. Yes!

Thanks again, Jason, for your very kind offer. As the date draws near, I will keep you posted. I know Keith would love to see his buddies. If you've never been ot the Open in Virginia, you're missing it. The people in Virginia are very warm and friendly. I've been to Vegas, to Florida, to Upstate New York, to Ohio, and to the Carolinas, but there's nothing better than a pool tournament in Virginia. It really is the best.

Please let us know. I can understand if he has not been playing and would rather not go there an not play well. But please take it in the spirit it is being offered. We know you can go if you want, it is not a matter of means, you have the means, we want to pay.

Let's make Keith the AZ sponsored horse in the US Open!

I'm in for $150.00 if this comes together - simply because I want to watch him play again.

I had a dog for almost 18 years....I was more active then, pool wise, and I would leave
him with friends if I was flying.
Once I was in an unfamiliar city and had to leave for 6 days...I put him in a good boarding
kennel.
When I came to pick him up, they brought him out and he wouldn't even look at me....
...he walked slowly past me stiff legged and stood at the door, waiting for me to open it.

I never did that again....took him three days to warm up to me...I was crushed.

regards
pt......in for a hundred

I am in! Keith get on the table get ready. Load up the little woman and the dog and go to the open!!!

I have a friend that comes over and house sits/watches my little doggie. He gets some spending money, and we get a great house/dog sitter. I too would never leave my god in a kennel ever again.

Pretty good rule of thumb: don't put your god in a kennel.

A god's wrath is a though thing to face.

Total so far

It's like a telethon. So far, we have a total of $734 in commitments from folks. There have been others saying they were in but had no number in their post. $266 to go.

Bump for the night shift......
....Keith, just go....worst thing can happen is two and out and you can still enjoy the time
spent with old friends.

Let me know--I'm in for a yard.

I'll be at Hard Times Bellflower next week and will let"Little Al" Romero know and let him spread the news. Only problem is that most of the good guys are gone. However, some of the missing in action guys might come out of the woodwork for something like this.

Keith's antics are legend there. What amazing things happened when he was primed and ready to go not only on the table but take on the whole room and turn it upside down into something that had never been until then.

Jam I may have to print your post and have my wife read it. Well said!

You all are so kind. Thank you for the good words about Keith. It has really given him a boost to read nice things about him on AzBilliards Discussion Forum.

It seems like our lives surround our Mickey Boy. Keith absolutely adores him, which began the first day he came into our lives. It is hard to travel with a dog, but it is doable. Thank goodness, we only live about 3.5 hours away from Norfolk. ;)

I'm going to call the Sheraton later today and get some info. We still have logistics to work out, but if we can bring Mickey and I can bring my office with me, this just might work.

I wonder how far Q-Masters is from the Sheraton in Norfolk. The real fun begins after the tournament hours in the pool room. :grin-square:

It is hard to believe Mickey is 3 years old now. Here's Keith with Mickey the first day Mickey came to his new home. :lovies:
