Keith Would have Crushed Them

Grow up. Do you even know how strong Buddy Hall played in his heyday, or Ronnie Allen, Jim Rempe, Nick Varner, Mike Sigel and Earl? And I'm just takling about tournament soldiers. There's a whole lot of world beaters who flew under the radar. As I said earlier, the tournament venues were only gathering spots for action men.
ill take my list take my top 10 and they would rob your top 10.
that is what i think.
i have been wrong before but that is what makes action.

Well guys this thread was interesting but I am only 30 and have no heart, no gamble, I haven't been on the road all my life and don't know anything so I'll see you guys later, well some of you.

Well at least 11 players on Chris's list are World Champions. That's pretty strong no matter when or where you played. IMO.

Ain't it the truth? Last time Keith played World Champions Mika, Ralf, Johnny, Shane, Alex, Warren, and Ronnie Alcano, by golly, he beat 'em. Imagine that. These world champions are in their prime, and Keith's hitting 50. :grin-square:

I would love to retort but I am not sure I am qualified to.

what does 32 have to do with heart.

You're the one who traveled with Kid Delicious, the guy who said he's the best money player in the world. I can see how you base your opinions.

Too bad you weren't around when action was prevalent, when players got up there and gave it their all. There was not any of this gimme-a-spot crap.

They walked into the joints like gunslingers, strangers in town, and stepped up to the plate. It didn't matter who they played. There was no mamsy pamsy bartering like, "You gotta play on my table. I get to pick the balls. We have to have a neutral racker." Back in those days, the road warriors had a whole lot of heart, and they were doing it long before they were 32 like you.

Trust me , Chris has heart. Any man that can play that strong for 32 plus hours, and all week , in that can of action has my vote. Chris has tons of heart.........

Yeah? Well, Keith played for longer than that MANY times.

A little sucker-punch does your heart good?

Considering who your so-called "friends" are, that's a pretty low blow.

You got personal first with me. Can't draw my rock? Who in the heck do you think you are, Small Fry?

All you have to do is read posts 76- 84 in this thread and judge for yourself on who got personal first.

I think that Chris Bartram is a great player, a warrior if you will who:

is not afraid to bet his own
treats his opponent and others with respect
matches up tough games
and I have never heard of dumping a stakehorse or a match.

These are four important attributes that are hard to find in a pool player and show that he has plenty of heart.

Sometimes, IMO and I have said this before - he over estimates himself but that is part of pushing yourself.

After reading this thread, I would have to say that Chris makes a fairly interesting point with this statement. I have played for several days with no chemical help and it is tough to maintain focus, there are many peaks and valleys in a 50+ hour session of action.

I have no dog in this fight, and I think Keith was a great player, better than everyone at one point and I feel the same about David Matlock. I think if they had played more often they both would have won plenty. I just wish Keith would have played Billy in that one pocket match, I would have made my first trip to the Derby just to watch that live.

Take Care All

I am sickened by this thread and by some of the comments from the peanut gallery about Keith McCready. Yes, since I care about the man with my heart, it hurts me deeply to read the ridicule.

Corvette goes off and starts a poll thread about who's the best player, Chris Bartrum or Keith McCready, when Keith is over 50 years old today. The poll thread was initiated only as a vehicle to demean Keith's good name.

I hope y'all have yourselves a nice day. I've wasted several hours defending a man I care deeply about when I could have been making money. My mistake.
