Thanks. That was a VERY interesting story! I go to Chris II every once in a blue moon myself. Man now you've got me wondering, what the hell was it that she saw under the wrap that made the cue unmistakeably David's?! Maybe I'll ask Ed Young over at Chris' to see if I can get to the bottom of this mystery.
You might be a Kers hogger too. You now have two.LOL. It looks like a great cue.Congratulations. poolrod.dmgwalsh said:I already got it coming to me.

The difference between a SW and a Kersenbrock is perfection. I can always tell if its a Kers by how uneven the points are in length. southwest strives for perfection.poolrod.Addicted2CuesRU said:With the Kersh sold I am taking the White off the market. Kinda just let fate decide which one I kept. I knew the Kersh was going to be the one. It will be hard to part with it... Based on how fast it went you got a real deal Dennis. I never had 3 people offer to take my price without a haggle. I suppose I shoulda put it up for like $2,500 - $3,000.
A while ago I put feelers out and a huge RIP that Kersh fest ensued due to the fact there were SW replacement parts on it. God forbid someone take a cue with a bent pin and an old, dirty green linen wrap and send it to one of the Top Cuemakers in the country and make it like new...
Here is the story as to why I sent it to SW instead of EY to have the repairs done. Chris' II in Des Plaines had the cue for sale as a Franklin ERA SW. I was pretty much a novice to the high end cue market at the time and did some research. I looked at a ton of SW cues everywhere and they all had the rings in the butt and I wasn't sure that it was a SW. A buddy said that he was sure that is was, and I could tell one thing for sure, that it was a top end cue with the woods that are in there.
I realized that something was wrong with the pin after I bought it, when screwed in tight it rolled perfect, but after playing for a while it would roll wobbly. So I sent it to SW to repair and authenticate since that was what I was told it was. Around that time I came across Dr. Wus websight where he had most of his collection and saw a Kersh that looked almost identical with a reverse of the woods in the Butt.
The day Laurie at SW got it she said to me... I got bad news and maybe good news... we can say for sure its not one of ours, but it might be a Kersh. She said she would have to take the wrap off to know for sure. She also said if its not a Kersh she wouldn't fix the bent pin or refinish it. She would throw a wrap back on, but that was it.... It was a nervous 24 hours for sure, but by this time I was already convinced it was a Kersh, which she confirmed saying something about the work was unmistakeably David's. Sure wish I knew what she saw, but she would not reveal that secret.
The cue came back perfect and I think the Brown/White linen looks better on it than the traditional green/white anyway...
I will definitely let you guys know if I find anything out. Yes, they are/were Paul's cues. Ed Youngsdmgwalsh said:Let me know if he tells you anything. He's been promising to come to Red Shoes for a while and if I see him I'll ask him myself. Was that Navarette's EY cue you were selling on ebay? Panama told me Paul had a couple for sale a while ago.

I don't think its as simple as a signature. When Laurie called me to tell me it was a DPK she was laughing about what she found. I wish I remember the exact words she said, but it was something like "Oh that david, only he would do it like that..."RackRunner said:It's probably something as simple as...you take the wrap off and find that David has signed the cue underneath the wrap. I know of a few cue makers who mark their cues this way. Just a thought.
