Anyone have a review on Mike Lambros' cues??? I have heard Mike can be hard to deal with, but I have the chance to buy one of his cues. I was wodering how is the hit and overall work, this cue does not have the ultra joint.

they are usually very good players, like as good as anyone's cues.also the workmanship is excellent and again as almost anyone.i think ordering from him can be a little tough and you have to wait longer than quoted.

they can also be bought pretty cheap now comparatively.not cheap but several hundred less than 5+ years ago.the plain pointed cues used to bring close to $2000 and now they are under $1500 all day long.so it is a good time to buy one.not sure why the prices dropped on them, but they did several years ago.

as far as buying an non-ultra jointed, they usually don't bring anywhere close to the amount the ultra joints bring, like maybe less than half.not saying they aren't as good, but they definitely are not worth what the ultra jointed cues are.

i apologize if this offends anyone and it is only my opinion and experience.the guy is a great cuemaker.

I can definitely second what masonh said. The "hit" of a Lambros is incredible. Yes, hit and feel are subjective, but the cues play really really nice. Not always the best lookers, but the playability is top notch!!!

I like the hit of Lambros cues. Not too stiff but not too quiet either. Kenny Carfagno at highendcues.com probably still has one or two available. As I recall, he had one with a rare ivory ultra joint.

Lambros cues often have razer sharp inlays and super long points. Beautiful players. Good luck with your purchase

Lambros cues have an incredible hit. My only gripe is the Lambros aesthetic (rings at ABCDE).

lambros

have owned 2 - fancy ebony and pink ivory and a titlist .. both played great .. incredible cue ball control and top notch workmanship .. both force follow and deep screw are easily achieved and focus can be maintained on simply making the shot.. the cue takes care of the rest - you will not be disappointed as long as the cue is dead straight as are the shafts ...

I recently purchased a lambros cue, the hit to me is not too stiff nor too soft, I'd said in between, but not whippy.

lambros is easy to adjust with near no deflection, I believe that ultra joint is the secret that contribute to the outstanding play, lambros is the cue I think every azer should have one

I have had an ivory jointed Lambros for years and I love it. It is also one of the best looking cues I have seen. His workmanship is awesome.

I owned a Lambros and really liked it and did not find Mike difficult at all. I spoke with him on several occasions and he was courteous and willing to speak with me.

I just bought a Lambros that I should have tommorow. I'll know soon enough if "the hit" is hype or for real.

I got the cue yesterday at about 3pm played in an 8pm local tourny and won. Then won 6 of 8 sets in a cash game. The cue I have has a maple nose/purpleheart points, I usually play with ebony nosed cues. I think I might want to try an ebony Lambros but...this one plays good!!!

I've been in the cue-hobby for the last 20+ years and I've had and played with everything out there. I can say without a doubt my 01 Lambros ultra jointed cue is the best playing cue for my play style I've ever owned. In fact, it is one of a handfull of cues that I own that I would never part with. Mike is one of the nicest and easiest to deal with cue-builders I have ever encountered, but he is a no BS kind of guy. He is not particularly kind to the cue-flipper crowd, he is old-school, he likes to build cues for guys that intend to play with them. I've found the secondary market to be tough sledding to find "deals" on Lambros cues. Most guys seem pretty content to keep the cues if the offer isn't similar to the cost of a new one. I've turned down new price offers for mine on more than one occasion.

My experience as well.

I sold a fancy Ultra II cue a few years ago that I really should have
kept, and out of the 4 dozen cues that I've owned in the past 10
years (several will remain nameless who's who of cues) everyone
has been sold and all I own today is this Lambros:

I'll add that the extension Lambros makes for his cues is excellent. Very nice on the stretchy to reach shots. His cues are tops.

Lambros

Great cues, great maker! The cues plays fantastic, consistent, supersolid, straight/low ld but with feel. The finish, points, inlays are perfect!

I have tried several of his cues and they all have played "the same" - great.

I would also like to add that as of 6-2011 his customer service
is excellent.
