Can someone tell me where I can get a lathe pin for predator uni lock? The guy that works behind the counter at my local poolhall does tips a ferrule work and I got him a set of lathe pins from Hightower. Unfortunately the uni lock that comes in the set doesn't work on predator and a lot of the people that play in the room use predator cues.

Thanks in advance for your help.

thanks everyone, I think atlas wants like $50 for the lathe pin but I will give them a call monday and see and then go from there.

They must have come down a little. I think I paid 55.00 a few years ago. They are well made.

This thread is a little confusing, to say the least.
How is it that a Uni-Loc maintenance set doesn't work on Predator cues?
You state that the maint. set that you have is a Hightower product. Why haven't you contacted Chris for an explanation? It could be something very simple.

Aside from my personal take on Uni-Loc pins, I don't know that you can find a pin that is more exact to one another than the Uni. They are all exactly the same. That applies to their inserts as well.

Before spending $50 + s/h, you were given a very good solution by John Rocker.
Make your own. A 'short' Uni J/B pin is like $6. The insert is $5. A buck's worth of alum rod and you've got a set for $12.

Seriously, I don't understand this thread at all.

I noticed that in the first question but I just assumed he has a drive pin for a Uni-loc Radial pin and not the quick disconnect.

first the uni loc that came with the set from Chris does not fit the predator uni loc nor was it billed that it would. I did talk to Chris and he said he doesn't carry that one. Second all uni loc pins are not the same.
Sorry you don't understand my thread but I guess we are even because I don't understand your aggression.

Have a coke and a smile.

I'm sorry that you see it that way but that was no where near to aggression.
I stated that I was confused (still am) and that's something entirely different.
Apparently, I may not be the only one that's confused.

Uni-Loc is a trade-name and by itself, does not define the pin. Uni-Loc is the name of the company.
When you stated it was a Predator cue, my sense told me that it was a QR pin and not a Radial so I based my post on that assumption. Everything stated in my post is the truth, no aggression implied or intended. Good luck in your search.

KJ is right here. I am also confused by your first and subsequent posts. Unless you are talking about Poison cues made by Predator, all Uniloc quick-release joints are supposed to be the same.

I have the Unique maintenance mandrel for the Uniloc quick-release joint. It works on both predator and non-predator Uniloc quick-release joints.

the post on the mandrel that came with the set is to large in diameter and predtor shafts won't go on.
I will be calling the company Waldo's suggested monday.

Thanks to everyone for their input.

Boradriver,

I think I am with KJ on this one.

If you have a UniLoc lathe driver from Hightower, or any other reputable supplier, then it will work on all UniLoc shafts including the predator shafts.

If it doesn't fit the standard predator UniLoc shafts, then most likely what you have is something different and not a UniLoc driver.

I would call Hightower as that is who you bought them from. He will either tell you what driver you have, or fix or replace it if it is not machined correctly.

Actually, their first joint pin is the UniLoc and has been our for several years.

the Ghost and Bullet joints are an adaption of the UniLoc pin, but have just come out in the last year or two.

Predator, to the best of my knowledge does not use either of these pins. Poison, which is a separate line owned by Predator, does use them.

Both these pins are made by the UniLoc company, but they are not the UniLoc pin.

I see the confusion now, it is because I was incorrect in calling the mandrel I got from Chris a Uni loc which I now understand it not to be. Sorry I confused everyone and thanks for all the help.
