As some on here know about 2 years ago we built a leather wrap fixture.
It works great only thing is the end cost to the customer would be 500.00 to 600.00 and I just gave up on it.recently I have seen a few posts from popele that are looking for one. We all know that these cost about $450.00 new. I remember when Steve Lomax had the first ones at the derby I couldnt get the money out fast enough. Well my question here is this ....what would the interest be if we could have a fixture, templete, and video and sell the whole thing under $250.00????

let me know what you think....thanks

I'll take the first one!

Well, I got your leather template device and am considering Uniques in the near future. If you're going to make a few, specially at that price, count me in and I'll hold off on the Unique.
Also waiting for a full splice jig. Lots of posters have asked for them so you probably would sell out quick.

If you can make it like Unique products leather cutting jig, not that jig with the slid block in the middle you made before. I found it does not work vary well. Uniques works great just costs way to much. I will definitely buy one from you if it looks good , and its priced right.

Why do you guys think 400 is too much for a wrap fixture? With just 4 to 6 wraps it would have paid for itself. What other major tool do we buy that pays for itself so quickly. I bought the Unique and although I haven't used it yet, it is very well made and seems worth the money.

Well, not caring what something costs may be the reason that you used to be rich!!!

In January 07 I was lucky enough to buy the very last DeAngelo wrap fixture that Atlas sold. I paid $350 for it. Atlas told me he was tired of being copied and wasn't going to make them any more. That he had enough components for one more, then he was done. With in days of my order, Atlas removed the listing from their website.

The fixture has a phone number on it. 864.458.9613 If I needed a wrap fixture I think I'd be calling this number to see if he'd make another one AT ANY PRICE.

DanO, how many different brands of wrapping machines have you got and used extensively to form this opinion? I thought long and hard before purchasing a machine and looked at many options. In fact I could have bought the De'Angelo before they were on the market for 200.00 directly from the inventor but I didn't want to spend the money at the time and was a little upset that the price had increased from the 150.00 that a friend of mine had just purchased one for. I wish I had at that time, but I never so I bought a different brand a few years later for much more money. I am quite happy with what I have and there are a number of people on this forum who have different brands and they all seem to be happy with what they are using. What a person is used to using is the best as far as they're concerned as they become familiar with it's idiosyncrasies. The reason for my question in the first place was to determine just how many brands of the fixtures that you are well enough aquanted with so as to give the advice to try and get one at ANY PRICE. That would imply to me that the De'Angelo was not only the forerunner of these fixtures, but, also were superior in some way and worth the extra cost. After all, it is only used to cut a straight line.

I must state that I am sorry that De'Angelo went out of business after being the one to come up with the initial idea and chances are good that his is the one that I would have purchased. His problem was the problem of most small businesses. He is a machinist first, an inventor second and a merchandiser last. He couldn't promote his invention in the best light and at a reasonable price. He had went with Atlas to get his idea out and the extra cost was apparently to prohibitive. Such is the nature and pratfalls of any small entrepreneur.

I agree ... Something as well made as Unique's leather fixture will last a lifetime. It will pay for itself many times over.
I got one and it works just fine.
Things that return money are not quite like things that don't.
