Leaving chalk upside down on the rail?

Watching long-time players leave the chalk upside down on the rail drives me nuts!

Does this bother anybody else? (If I'm alone in this, I'll get counseling)

The punishment ought to be thumb or arm breaking.

Chalk face up so that the table stays clean, or chalk face down so that the rail becomes this big chalk depository and stains the crap out of your clothes?

Shows complete disrespect for the equipment, the game, and your fellow players.

Scientific evidence has proven (beyond any doubt) that these players also do not wipe.

:rotflmao: Probably just as well since they most likely don't wash their hands either.

Something to think about next time you see a smudge on a rail. :yikes:

I put that right up there with chalking over the table and putting your cig on the rail between shots.

My brother does it every time he plays on my table. I'm OCD with keeping my table clean, vacuumed and polished. When I see the blue dust everywhere, I can't wait for the match to be over just so I can wipe everything down.

I hate it....ALOT... when I see that at the pool hall I turn the chalked right side up. Makes the table look like crap and makes my hands and clothes dirty. Did I mention I HATE it

drives me nuts, when ....before i play ,i dampen a large piece of paper towel and wipe the the rails/cushions ........some bangers 2 tables away were eating /smoking/powdering their palms and leaving the talc bottle on the table /and chalking up OVER the table.....also people who drop the balls on table by turning over the basket of balls when they come to the table........or slam the rack after racking ......

We have several players here at Classic Billiards that insist on putting the chalk upside down. My hands and cloths show the chalk every day. Frankly disgusting! They claim its the houseman's job to clean the rails between matches. B.S. Just plain bad manners. Pool or otherwise!

LOL.... I was playing a guy in a tournament a couple of years ago. He wouldn't just lay it upside down, he always kind of tapped it onto the table. I had on dress type pants, and kept sitting it upright and brushing off the rail with my hand. Finally, I went to the bathroom in the middle of the set, washed my hands, and brought bach a couple of paper towels. Maybe the guy was getting a kick out of watching me, or maybe he was just an a-hole. I still beat him. Thats almost as bad as the guy who has to use a ton of powder and gets it all over the cloth and the balls. NO MANNERS>>>>>

It is probably the same people that put the fag on the rail, and a bear in the pocket.Either way ,it shows no respect.

I hate it. Whats worse is when you turn all the chalk right side up and your opponent comes up for his shot and walks around and turns every piece upside down then shoots

I play a guy pretty often that leaves the chalk down so the table is covered, next time Im going to throw it across the room just for you guys!

haha. maybe not.

Wow, I forgot about the players who use baby powder instead of talc. Another group of uncaring players! I HATE cleaning the cloth after a "powder" user has played. They feel they've been wronged!
