ok, i am just curious. with all this talk about the latest Lessons from Earl, i was wondering if anyone out there took any lessons from Ms. Fisher? i checked into it a few years ago, but, uh, well, to say the least, the $$$ was just a lil steep for me.

but i am wondering if anyone has what they thought? or did anyone attend her Academy? surely to take a few pointers from perhaps the finest woman cueist of all time would be a great opportunity!

Stick with Scott or Randy. Do you know where many of the pros go when they want help with their game?????

Until you're ready to take on the champs anyway.
I think Allison's experience in high pressure situations
would be very helpful. She rarely loses control for more
than one inning.

I've talked to several people who have gone and I know several of the instructors. If you can afford it, by all means go. I think you will have a wonderful time. However, I don't think that you will necessarily learn there in three days more than you have gotten here in three years.
 
I checked into it a couple of years back,kinda expensive.Considering you can get lessons from earl for $75.00 an hour.
 
Kelly Fisher gives very good lessons as well. She's only $50/hr if I'm not mistaken. She can be reached by calling Rack Em' in Matthews NC 704/847-7665 for anyone interested. I was recently playing a couple sets next to her "lesson" table & I was very impressed.;)

What a wierd world; not 5 minutes ago I sent in my money for her and Gerda's school in September!!!!!!!! If I can just learn Allison's ability to focus on the game and ignore distractions, it will be well worth the money to me. Anything additional will be a bonus such as why she calls me Dave.

I'm not trying to knock her, I've met her a few times and she seems like a very nice person - and obviously a knowledgeable player... but I just think there are way too many people that are much more qualified to give lessons at a cheaper price. Then again, I could be 100% wrong and she might improve your game a full rack...

The people that I can attest to as being great teachers are;
Danny D, John Ditorro, Ignacio Chavez. If you happen to run across any of these guys see if they have some time.

what would one have to consider when choosing a pool mentor? if money was no object, who would you get?

A proven instuctor that has made other players you know games better. Johnnyt
 
Spend the same amount of time on the tables as you do posting here, and you won't need lessons. You'll improve 2,3 balls in a months time!!!!
Don't take this in a negative way, as AZB has taught me lot's, and this is the place to ask when it comes to do with anything related to pool. But it's very obvious that based on the content of many of your posts/questions/shared experiences................that YOU HAVEN'T DONE YOUR TIME!!!
Now get your @ss down to the pool hall!!!

i think Jean Balukas played better,


it dosent matter how good someone plays it how well they teach thats important, Little Joe V. is a great player but he dosent play Efrens speed and i promis you he would teach you more in a week than Efren could, there are players /teachers and both Joe is a both-I know this this first hand. Efren can play but we would have a hard time communicating with each other.

You can play him cheap too ;) 4 days costed me 230 $ and I learned a lot about playing with pressure, just watch him play and the good feeling of winning some sets against the master :)
 
I know for a fact that Allison can teach very well. If you want to go to Allison, just do it....SPF=randyg
 
Allison Fisher is a perfectionist, at the table and away from it. Her unparalleled achievements as a player are, in large part, a result of her having the most solid and repeatable stroke even seen in women's pro pool.
When it comes to fundamentals and mechanics, Allison's knowledge and attention to detail are remarkable, and I'm sure that if you took lessons from her, the experience would be just as remarkable.

On top of that you'll meet a lady that is so nice it is stunning. An absolute class act...the type of person you'd want living next door. People with her "down to earth" type personality are getting very hard to come by in these times.:)
