Lets see the pics of the best player you ever had. It doesnt have to be the best looking cue, but the cue you think has been the best player in your hand.It can be custom or production just about any cue.
Even if you dont have a pic you can post a story.

Mine was this 95 franklin southwest, i should have not let this cue go. I think it resides happily in dubai now:embarrassed2:May be she misses me too also

Two Stories

One was a SW Satin 2004, a naive new to customs guy got robbed by a dealer! Not knowing how rare these cues were sold it, only to find out that it would take three years to come across a cue that played as good.

Another was an EY merrywidow, purpleheart with the K2 taper, hit like a freight train, bought it, the guy I bought it from begged to have it back, only for him to sell it the next day! I didnt mind because I had just put an order in with Ed, but didnt realize I would be waiting as long as I have for my own EY!

Which is why I WILL NEVER SELL A CUE UNTIL ANOTHER COMES ALONG THAT PLAYS BETTER!

I had a Zylr sneaky with a curly maple band at the buttsleeve, had a 12mm shaft and thin butt, but i played really well with it. i bought and sold it 3 times..the first time i sold it, i instantly regretted and luckily for me i managed to buy it back at the same price. after i sold it the 2nd time, i struggled to adapt to any other cue, and i was lucky the 2nd buyer dint like it alot as he was more comfortable with his old cue. so i bought it back, but i sold it the 3rd time when i was in need of some cash..

i only managed to forget the Zylr after using my tasc titlist conversion with ivory over ss joint. hits like a dream. my dumbest move was selling it and i have regretted it ever since.

i also regret selling my window szam, was a real nice player but i was usually too worried about scratching it so i played with it sparingly. i am comforted that the cue is in safe hands..

My first cue was a custom sneaky Pete made by sanko. Then I came across my Troy Downey which I haven't let go since I got it. I love the hit of the cue. Thinking of getting another one made by him. Don't have pictures of my cue on my phone. I wanna try playing with others but I don't have the funds to even get one.

My first cue purchase when I started playing pool again 9yrs ago. I was on a business trip in Tokyo and hooked up with a Mezz Dealer and went to his place. The cue came with a Standard Maple shaft and I upgraded it to a HybridPro shaft. That was also the time I got hook on Mezz Cues. A couple of years later, the HybridPro-II shaft came out and I bought it from the same Dealer on one of my trips to Tokyo.

It's a Mezz PUJ-1 with HybridPro and HybridPro-II shafts. I just keep coming back to it.

Rick Howard cue

Several years ago I had Rick Howard convert a Titlist cue for me and since then I have played with about a dozen or more of his cues and got to hit with a few more of other peoples. All of his cues play top notch and that is still what I play with today. I think it was at the 2005 or 2006 Derby City Classic that I taked Rick into selling me his playing cue but had him send it to me after the tournament was over. It has 6 ebony points with no veneers and was in well used but good shape. I played with it for a year or so then at the next DCC I traded it for another one of Ricks cues. I always thought about getting it back and it actually came for sale on here but I missed it and contacted the guy who bought it but it was not for sale. After a long period of time it again came for sale on here and I finally got it back and come to find out it was sold 3 or 4 times since I originally traded it. It still has the same wrap I had Rick put on it and the same old original Moori tips that Rick played with on both shafts. This might not be the best player I have had because the cue Rick made that I am playing with now is just as good if not better but its a good story I guess. I will post pictures when I take some good ones.

For me its my Scruggs. I've had chance to hit with some very nice cues but for me non seem to hit quite as sweet as this cue. Length, balance and weight are all perfect for me and i've never hit with another cue that moves the ball about as easy as this one does, its a special cue.

I have a Gus thats probably the best hitting cue I ever played with, I can get more juice on the rock with control than any other cue I have ever played with. It was Ray Martins Gus so that probably isnt a accident.

I have a Black Boar I play with thats pretty sporty as well,

Whats funny is I can go back to a cue that I loved years ago and now I dont like it to much-funny how things change. Some guys use the same cue for 20+ years.

Best cue

For me it was just a plain jane JOSS sneaky pete....20 years ago so cant really say if it was the cue or the younger eyes :(

I have a very rare disease called 'Stupid' (its a technical term) that essentially attacks the brain and makes me sell cues that I regret letting go of the moment the package leaves my hands at the post office. So for me, there are LOTS!

Here are a few.

The first, an ebony and purpleheart Franklin South West.

Selling this Sugartree was a bad idea too. This cue moved the rock SOOOO well.

Then, there was this trifecta of stupidity. One of my all time classic moves!!! The Omen was one of the better custom cues I had ever played with. But, in my quest to try something new, I sold it for a lot less than I should have.

The cocobolo and satinwood Fanelli was gorgeous in ever way. It was even featured in an Inside Pool article that Cornerman wrote about Paul and his cues. Beautiful cue with a beautiful hit. And I traded it away for a Gilbert and some cash.

The burl Mottey was possibly the finest playing cue I ever had as a daily player. The figure in the burl was sick and I just LOVED the hoppe look. Not to mention, I am a HUGE fan of Paul's cues and owned many. None played as good as this and just about everyone who hit with it agreed with me. I sold it once to a friend and got soooo bummed seeing it in the same room every day that the guy felt bad and sold it back to me. lol. You would think I learned, right?

WRONG!!! A few years later, I decided that I wanted to ask my then girlfriend to marry me. And the ring I had picked for her was just a touch out of my reach. And realizing that getting married would severely encroach on my pool-playing time, I figured I might as well let her go! (Dumb move. My wife LOVES pool.) But all in all, not a bad move. It filled the gap between cash in hand and overall price on the ring. And now that we have a baby boy, its rare that I get to the pool room.

And finally, a fancy Bender. Perhaps the best playing cue I ever hit with. It was maybe the best playing cue that ever passed through my hands. Curly purpleheart, ebony, ivory... just awesome! And I sold it to someone here who I can only describe as an ingrate and a pain in the... (just kidding. He's kinda ok.)
