Let's See Your Schon! Pictures Please.

Nice Schon's

Great looking cues everyone. These are such good hitting cues.I shoot with a STL-13 it is my favorite cue by far.Sorry I am unable to load the pic somehow.Nice thread.

That's an r-9 model, kind of a plain design but one of my favorites because of the windows in the ebony butt. The butt has been modified for some reason, and that makes it hard to give a price. Where are you located? If I could see the cue in person I might be interested in purchasing or trading for the cue.

Many Thank's ...Wade and Astl for answer.
Now i know My cue model is r-9
Your answer is helping so much.
Sorry I'm don't think to sell it and my position is far away from ur country.
Thank's for all...

You're welcome. I'm not sure why the butt was replaced but if you send it to Evan Clarke at Schon he should be able to put a Schoon butt cap on it for a reasonable price, assuming that it isn't damaged inside. The cue would be worth more if in original condition.

Hey, eezbank. The new wrap looks real nice. Glad you're still enjoying the cue. I still think that's one of the best looking cues Schon has ever made. The pattern & coloration all just melds very well.
Take care & enjoy!

Did you do those pics?

Yes, I took the pics and put them together with Adobe Photoshop. I bought the wrap from Koinkid and the cue was wrapped by J&D here on AZ. I see you still have that great looking Olney. Is that still your daily player?

Has been yeah. But I got a Titlist conversion from LP Customs recently that I've been playing a lot with, just bought a $CASH$ cue from hangemhigh (the brazilian rosewood Davis full splice conversion - expect to play a LOT with that), and I've got a Zinzola on the ground due in late fall. The McDaniel gets play time, too. They all hit and balance really great, they're all 5/16-14 piloted (my deal), and I play with OB1's on everything now - love 'em (plug for Royce).
Life is good...

This is a great thread. I am glad someone got it going again. My favorite Schon is the LTD with the ivory skulls in it. I hope to get one of those one day.

Here's my small collection. If you'd like to see any closer pictures of a particular one, just let me know!

I got this one from DW. Without a doubt, the best player I have.

Another hitter, a 6 pointer from Jim Baxter.

Until today I though this was a SP98-6 but now I am not possitive .I seen another on on here that says its a C-11 but what ever the number I think it looks great. And the plain one is an SL-1(I think)And they both play great.

Bob Runde

I recently bought a Bob Runde cue made in 2006. So many people claim the Bob Runde era cues were better (hope I don't make anyone mad saying that). Since Bob Runde co-founded Schon, how does Bob's cues compare in playability to Schon cues? Or even the Schon-Runde era cues?

Oh, one more question; will a shaft made for a Schon fit on my Runde cue?
I like how the cue plays, but I still have to get use to how solid it plays. I was playing with a Predator 314-2 shaft for 1 year straight.

Also, I always thought Schon was pronounced (shown).

The cue on the far right is a dead ringer for mine. Except your joint looks ivory-ish? Mine appears to be SS or nickel/silver -- definitely metal. My wrap is a beautiful leather job -- nearly invisible seam.

A Schon shaft will not work on a Runde, but a Runde shaft will fit a Schon. I feel that Runde's play like a Schon, but a little more gracefull. Old Schon's and Runde's are close, but Runde's are cored and the old R series stuff is not.

What's my Schon?

I've been digging all over the place and looked at every page of this thread and can't find out what my Schon identifying code is. I bought it from the guy who started AE cues when he was getting out of the distribution business back in around 1995. Any help would be appreciated. Here's a picture next to my D-23 McDermott.

Thanks.

Here's one I picked up from 12squared who got it from Skins. It's an R14 from 1982 with onyx dots on the points and green lines around the dashed rings. Beauty in person as well. Love this cue.
