My favorite glove is made from a biker's leather glove, with plenty of holes in it, and the pinky and ring fingers cut off, as well as the tips of the middle and forefingers.
Looks kinda mean. Wear that sucker and you'll get comments like "that looks sinister"...
Definitely not the glove for pansies, or guys who don't like power shots!

I saw a guy once about 8 years ago with almost exactly the same glove and set up exactly the same way as you described. My immediate comment was,
"HEY! Michael Jackson's OTHER glove"!!!
However, I DID get the guy to let me examine it. The leather was thin enough so that it wasn't bulky or otherwise materially intrusive upon bridge placement, it was well aereated, close fit (like a skin), comfortable and the cue slid over it effortlessly.
Overall, I would say that this is a pretty good set-up for a glove and, additionally, it DOES look cool -- and intimidating

.
Oh yeah, and I wear a glove ONLY when humidity is so high that nothing else I do overcomes the "sticky shaft" syndrome. When it DOES get this humid, I have to have at least THREE gloves with me, as they each get quickly drenched with sweat from my hand. Word of caution: when it gets this bad, it's better to "call in sick" ...

I actually don't mind the glove, but I much prefer the tactile feedback I receive from having the cue directly upon the skin surface of my hand.
Also, upon occasion, I will play with a glove if I think that will cause my opponent to UNDERESTIMATE my abilities. Just like the impression another poster has about those who play with gloves, I have actually seen this happen more than once -- so, I take advantage of this myself from time-to-time.
Thunderball, you're gonna have to vote for me -- not sure WHERE I fall on your poll.
