Liquidwick cues and Jeanette Lee

Just happened to catch an interview by inside pool magazine with Jeanette Lee, apparently she is now sponsored by some up start cue company(perhaps the next cuetech? :D ) called Liquidwick. I've also noticed if you go to Jacoby's website, they no longer feature her on their homepage - though her signature cue is still there and available for purchase(presumably.) Lee also still seems to be holding the Jacoby cue on her website... In fact she is holding a Jacoby in the picture right next to her announcement of her new cue sponsor... as seen here.

Anybody know anything about anything about Liquidwick, other than they apparently have more money Jacoby cues? I really don't care too much... Just stumbled across the Lee interview, or should I say promotional video with inside pool... and find it funny that she is holding a cue from a former sponsor in a pic. right next to her new sponsor... gotta love capitalism, especially when your arguably the most marketable pool player on the planet!

Also found this video funny!

Also heres the link for LiquidWick cues, in case anyone wants to pick up their $99 Axis Glide pool cue. Its Cool... It Smooth... Its designed to give you the professional edge!!! Edit: If you go to the website, checking out the testimonials is a must!!! Its as if they've combined girls gone wild with pool cues! Invest in your future, invest in your childrens future, invest in your grandchildrens future with LiquidWick cues!!! Anyone want to take bets on whether travis trotter will switch from cuetech to LiquidWick? :D

Interesting idea. A pool cue that doubles as a room deoderizer!

Now, if only the cue included Jeanette Lee... then perhaps I'd trade in my Jacoby!

Looked at the "Testamonials"

Looks like something right out of late night infomercials 101.

Somebody spent at least a little dough on video production...website is sketchy though for a supposedly big deal cue company. Do they have an infomercial host school that trains those guys? They all sound the same.

Why not? If they can sell freakin pocket fishing rods why not pool cues?

LOL....dude said "investment"...priceless.

I have my money on the "RONCO Pocket Banger" its the size of a cigar and telescopes into a full sized playing cue..

I'm gonna be rich Muahahahahaha

It gave me a laugh... I almost expected to see Kevin Trudeau pop up in the testimonials! :)

wow i can't believe i just wasted 3 minutes watching both of the testimonial videos... wtf was up with the random stripper looking girls dancing in the videos?

So it's basically a fiberglass coated cue with a 15 inch long taper...

i loved the part where the guy was discussing all the different parts that made it a PROFESSIONAL POOL CUE .. ie. 13 mm shaft (FOR CUEBALL ACCURACY) and an irish linen wrap (THE BEST MONEY CAN BUY) and the sleek black and tan design... honestly wtf was up with that Segal guy.. then again, i can see some random trick shot guy being swayed by an 'endorsement' i can't believe jenette lee signed up with these guys. they must be paying her a fourtune, or she must be desperate for cash.

these guys are seriously destroying the crediblity of pro pool.

Dude,
My understanding is that Jeanette is endorsing the LiquidWick line of affordable cues; but NOT playing with them (and not expected to play with them). I believe her current cue is custom made by Dave Jacoby for Mosconi Billiards (her sponsor at the time the cue was made); and I am unaware of any plan to switch playing cues.

The LiquidWick cues are certainly targeted at the "Walmart crowd". I believe they will probably retail for around $99. The ones that I have seen are definitely playable and presentable; but will NOT be purchased by the cue connoisseurs here on the forum. I am told that their goal was to make a very playable cue for under $100.

Liquid Wick also has a very interesting (even to a pool snob like me) teaching device. It is a practice cue with the butt filled with sand (or some equivalent noisy material), that makes a specific sound when the transition from backswing to foreswing is smooth. If the transition is jerky, it makes a different sound and rattles in your hands - instant feedback. Actually I found it interesting and potentially helpful to players with smoothness issues.

Hope this helps.

P.S. - I am lead to believe that she is DEFINITELY the most marketable pool player (I doubt you could find anyone to argue this point).

P.P.S. - I was given a bag of LiquidWick chalk but have not tried it yet

As numerous pictures from DCC show, Jeanette Lee was using a Schuler Cue during The Women's 3-Cushion National Championship Jan. 5 & 6 2008.
Which she also did at SL International 3-Cushion Tournament last Aug. 2007, in NY.

B-shot,
Her 3-cushion cue is different from her pool cue. I do not know the details of the billiard's cue; I believe she has several, but does not endorse any specific billiard's cue to my knowledge.

Not anymore than the 100's of useless aimers, no defection shafts, and other "become a pro for $$$ in two weeks" are. Johnnyt

IO,
Actually, despite the advertising hyperbole, I do think that the cues are supposed to be very playable. The one I tried played very nicely considering the "bargain basement" cost; it seems obvious that they are trying to make a cheap cue that comes close to the playing characteristics of a professional cue.

I have also heard they are pumping mega-dollars into advertising and sponsorships......now if only they would pay me for MY endorsement.

As Williebetmore stated, endorsing the cue but not playing with them. She is having a new design created for her by Jacoby cues so it doesn't look like the Mosconi branded cue.

thats what I thought as well! :D Thats what made the whole thing so funny for me! That and it was 5 a.m. when I stumbled across it.

that's the dumbest thing I've ever seen... it makes cuetech look like a custom shop. I can't believe Jeanette would endorse something like that.

Willie,
I didn't see anything on the site about this training cue.
Do you have a link for more info?

(The pro taper IS the key to straighter shots)
