Live Stream from SBE

There is a Poll on the forum about the venue for the SBE this year, I can't comment on that, however, I will say that the new venue must have a very weak Internet connection. I have tried watching some of the matches and cannot get anything but a very choppy & jerky picture. I have tried all of the sources for the stream and everything I can do on my end to get a better stream (Refresh, Reboot, Browsers, etc...) with no luck!

I have given up on trying to watch any of it, as on my end it is basically unwatchable. If Allen Hopkins decides to use this same venue next year I hope he & InsidePool can work out some kind of better Internet connection for the Stream!

Weird, my experience has been basically problem free and it's a high quality picture, even in full screen mode or projected on to my big screen.

I have watched quite a bit of it the past few days from the Insidepool link and it worked great for me. In fact I connected my laptop to my 50" TV earlier today and watched it from there and it was very clear, and had no distortion of any type. This evening I saw a couple little blips but nothing bad to where I missed anything. Overall I think its awesome quality, both sound and picture.

It's not on their end. The stream worked fine for me. Contact your ISP.

My only beef is that I could use a little more info and a little less banter. I watched SVB vs McReesh but I still don't know how many are remaining in the tournament, or who they are, or what time it starts tomorrow.

But since it's free, who am I to complain?

Stream is good. Your Internet connection might not be.

There are four left: Appleton and Stevie Moore on the winners side, and Raj Hundal and SVB on the left side. First match is 11:30A Eastern.

Here's the updated brackets with all the info:

Thank you.

ISP, Internet Connection

As I said in my original post I ran all sorts of tests to find a solution to the choppy stream, besides what I already mentioned I also ran the Ping test for my Internet Speed to make sure the problem wasn't just a slow connection, it was up to speed. I also tried watching some other Pool Live Streams on UStream and they were smooth and clear, the SBE stream was the only one I had any problem with.

I know I am not the only person that had this issue, the times I did try to watch the stream I could tell from the comments being made in the chat room that others were also experiencing a choppy stream.

I don't know where those of you that got a clear stream live, but I'm guessing it is closer to the event than I am in Texas. It could be that the stream was degraded by the number of lines & routers it had to go through to get to me. I'm also wondering if the Solar Storm we are currently experiencing may not be partly responsible.

.

When you ran the ping test did you select a server near Valley Forge or Philadelphia? I am in Atlanta and no problems with the stream.

I live in Florida and experienced, at times, a jerky picture which would tend to freeze up. However the majority of the time the stream was OK. The problem would come ang go.

I am in texas; san antonio, and my stream is very clear and not choppy at all and watched all day on saturday. I have at&t as internet provider. Hope you get it worked out. Also had the big truck stream up at the same time so I was running two live streaming and both were perfect.

Just because you have a good connection you cant guarantee a steady stream from everywhere. Sometimes it sucks even if youre close. Problem could be a bad route to the server that streams the broadcast, not much you can do.

Somethings I realized is you can have 99 out of a 100 guys having a good stream and those who do not need to realize its most likely on their end. It could be the internet connection, trying resetting your router, make sure if your on a laptop your either plugged in or set to High Performance. Make sure you do not have other programs running if you have a computer that is not geared for it, having 10 windows open, playing games online, instant messaging and listening to music all while watching the stream might not be wise if you do not have a powerful computer.

I would say the majority of people do not have their computers up to date or running properly, probably do not even know how to do that but there are some programs that can help you to keep your computer running well or just ask a buddy who knows computers to clean it up and get rid of most of the junk you do not use on it and your machine will run much better.

I am not computer genius by any means but I am able to keep my computers running smooth and clean of junk. I go in Windows Update and make sure I am up to date, my flash player is up to date, I use CCleaner which is free, Microsoft Security Essentials which is free, make sure to do Disk Cleanup and Disk Defragmenter also, I do all of this every week or two. If your using Vista then get rid of it and get Windows 7 if you can. These are just a few tips and I am sure others can post some more.

Next year all SBE streaming should be in one thread whether PPV or Free . we are having numerous tournaments from Pro, Amatuer, Artistic, to 3Cushion. This year different post /thread

I'm watching on the AZ link..but no chat there. Can somebody please post the ustream link????
