Liz Ford

I was there last month teaching and entertaining some teenagers, they had a table at home and their dad thought it would be cool if they knew more about the game. It was fun!

I hope to spend some more time at Leisure Time. If I can line up three or four lessons, I'd love to spend a day in there teaching.

Thats cool! the kids looked like they were having a blast! Maybe ill see you down there some time!

I'm terrible, your grandmother could beat me, I have a degenerative eye condition...

Seriously, this isn't my schtick. I only do things with the idea of improving, getting exposure for the game and helping others. I'm pretty boring. I have never had the gambling bug in my life, I don't even play penny slots (very often.) That being said, I'm sure I would learn a lot playing cheap sets with you... with you giving me the stars, the moon and other celestial bodies, natch.

:)
Hey Liz,
I don't know if anyone is buying the terrible part:)
You play very well, and it's nice to see you on the forum.
Best,
Ken Kerner

It was just for the day! I'm back and ready for more - at least until I have to board the plane to The Netherlands.

Welcome, Liz! Glad to see you posting & looking forward to more. Best of luck to you.

Liz is at the Airport to the Training in the Netherlands

We love you too Liz. Go learn a lot...come back and apply it in your game and teach it to others. We appreciate your love of the game and your attempt to upgrade the American game, its players as well as its image. Good luck my friend :)

European training update

Took the red eye to Amsterdam last night, and drove over the border to Belgium this morning. Today we did six hours of assessment drills of my stroke, pocketing and speed control. More assessment tomorrow. Really enjoying it so far. Jet-lagged with two hours of sleep so I am going to rest up for another full day. Johan and his family are wonderful and I am really glad I came!

Ugh, Hello from Belgium...

Just a quick update to say hello from just south of the Netherlands, in Belgium.

It is day two of my training with Johan Ruysink and my weaknesses are being revealed to me one after another. It is pure torture...

I have hit so many balls in the last 30 hours that I've lost my feel entirely and now I am starting to lose my mind.

I think this is all part of Johan's plan. He has alluded a few times to "breaking me down" and I think he might be achieving his objective.

I long to be a lazy American again :)

Update

I've started to share some of Johan's training methods over at my blog if anyone is interested.

I haven't been able to put in 10 hours per day, but I've been doing 2-3 and it is still a lot of work :)

Thanks Liz, I am looking for a solid practice routine. I prefer structured practice and this is a great example. I appreciate your knowledge sharing.

Lizzzzzzzzzzzzz!

I've always felt that 3 hours of focused practice is better than 10 hours of half-assed practice. I know by the time SDC rolls around, you're going to be in fine form.

Love you!

Thanks, Annie :)
I think some days with longer hours are essential to increase stamina; I hope to put a couple of 10-ers in...
