Lock N Load

Couple of things guys.

First...I don't live here on AZB waiting for your calls for help.
Wedge....9:47 am was your first report. I work and have a life too....if that's OK with everyone.

Second: Everyone is real quick to pick up a torch and or pitchfork these days.

I took a second to wiki the term. Maybe you guys should too...instead of just jumping to a conclusion that it is a racial slur.

How many slang terms should I look to ban?
Hillbilly? Redneck? Yankee?
Do these qualify as ethnic slurs too?

Are we simply looking for a reason to get rid of Pangit because he generally pisses everyone off or are you genuinely offended by geographic ( not even ethnic in my eyes ) jabs at your buddy lock n load?

This pretty much sums it up.

It aint ok for someone who is an obvious hater to call someone a coon ass. It was used in a derogatory way.

Keep those Rose colored glasses on Dave but don't selectively take them off.

I Googled it a long time ago when I first heard it used.

The original word supposedly came from the French word, connassee (sp)
which isn't a particularity nice word to be called itself. Bastardized to Coon A$$.

I think this word was disproven.

Some Cajuns like and use the word to refer to other Cajuns and others think it is a slur.

The part that I found funny was that some Cajuns believe that the word refers to them as having a lower social standing than a Black American, which is kind of racist in itself, dontcha think.

Ok, so then you post the PHJ scene on the use of the word Nigga. Its presumably ok for a Black man to call one of his fellow country men that word but not from a white man.

The same is with the word Coonass. The Cajuns that use the word thinks its perfectly alright to be called that from another Cajun but a slur if a non Cajun uses it.

I'm just a Canuck and not a Cajun and just going on what I read on Wiki. And on the premise that everything that I read on the interebs is always correct.

Be honest and specific.

The "obvious hater" part is what I'm talking about.
He's been working everyone's patience for some time...so is it like your link..where your own bias is being exposed?
 
I may have to throw the red flag myself.
What gets me is Pangit starts all of these dumbass threads about stupid stuff, and for one reason or another we play along nicely with this attention starved manipulative childlike nerd.
Pangit rarely makes comments on his own stupid threads, but makes negative comments on a good thread.
Pangit is now just another troll on my "does not exist" list.
My recommendation is for people to ignore the Pangit threads, and just leave the little troll alone.

And not trying to slur Lock, but that is usually what he does as well.

He will start a thread asking a question, and that will be the last you hear of him until he starts another. Or he decides its time to bump his thread to the top.

If you are going to start a thread, most people do so on the premise that if someone participates in it, so will they.
 
My thoughts as the thread originator

There are two sides to every story. Mr Wilson has a valid point concerning the origination and perception of the term. My perception is that it is offensive and meant to be just that. I know I would not go into any establishment in the deep south and say "Hey...do you Cajun-Arcadian-Coonasses mind if I come in?

This is my last post on a positive thread I started that went bad because of one hater!

You can see it in his eyes and hear it in his voice, there's no hater in him...

Why don't we leave it up to Lock? He's the one who either got slurred, or didn't. If it's alright with him, it's alright with me. :)
 
Ok, we all confused "coon" with "coon-ass". But it's not jumping to conclusions to think a guy like Pangit would make a racial slur. This is the guy who started a thread called "There Are Way Too Many Crazy Assed Muslims", and feels we should build a wall to keep out Mexicans.

It's possible he doesn't feel any hatred for other ethnic groups, and simply likes to make his posts as inflammatory as possible. I dunno.

Correct. If a cajun refers to another cajun as a coon ass it's acceptable. When a hateful person refers to someone as a coon ass is not acceptable and can net you a beat down.

Just like Michael Hunt. If that's my name it's ok, but if it's not my name it's not ok.

It's clear that a number of people were offended. Isn't that the litmus test for a vacation?

At some point I gotta just put some stuff aside and take a flight down to see Lock n Load .I may even get lucky and see Joey A. too ,if he is not in the back room with the door marked "Elite"........:smile2::smile2: Just messing with you Joey .......Joey and Lock n Load both are like long lost uncles to me , we are all just brothers from other mothers .I'm going to make every effort to get down that way before febuary , it's really starting to bug me that I am not playing much and I am not around my pool family ......:sorry::sorry:
 
The original word was barracoon.

Individuals were temporarily transported to and held at barracoons along the western coast of the continent. The amount of time a slave spent inside a barracoon depended primarily on two factors: their health and the availability of slave ships.

Hello Blue Hog,
I use to post an answer to everyone who posted in my threads. I was accused of bumping my own threads, posting to much in them and other things. And even now when I post a thread I still answer anyone who ask me something of needs an answer from me.
I have never said anything bad about anyone on AZB. I try to treat people like I want to be treated. This is not a thread by me although it is about me.

Hey Tramp,
I have been hammered on by Panit a long time and I have never said a word to him nor have I posted in any of his threads. he has pushed me to the limit a lot of times, but I kept my cool and let it go! Now it seems that other people besides me can finally see how he does me. I do not like it at all. But, I love AZB so I have been putting up with it. Everything comes to an end though. The whole post was in bad taste in my opinion! Thank you my friend.

When he came to Denver we played after a little cue deal.
At about 5:00 he had to go, so we sat down with some of the gang talking about cues for a few minutes.
I think he left around 2 am.
