Looking for vinyl chalk holders

Last year I was making some pocket chalkers for my team mates and I sold a few on this forum. I had found a distributor for a rubber chalk holder but I've found that they don't stand the test of time. They get loose and don't do the job. I would like to find a source for the vinyl holders that come with most of the commercial pocket chalkers. I know most of you that make your own chalkers just cut the stick off and use the holder, and I've done that myself. But I can't seem to find any source for the vinyl holders separately. Help! Don

You mean these. You could try Billiards&Beads. But I would doubt they would sell you just the holders so you could produce a competing product.

I buy mine from Mueller in quantity and just break off the cheap plastic handles, then make unique painted holders, as shown below. I have had no problem with the vinyl. They work well. They last (seemingly) forever. And, they use a nice heavy string between the holder and the handle!

Here is a idea that might work. It is a plastic dip that is used to coat tools.

You could dip the chalk into it. Or you might be able to make a mold out of wax or maybe plaster so it could be removed from the plastic shell.

Try frankscenterinc.com and send them an email about buying just the vinyl holder. They gave me a price a while ago, as they did sell just the vinyl holder but not on the webpage.
