I lost 27 lbs in the last 2 months. I feel so much better. I can breath much better and the humidity doesn't bother me much at all now. I haven't had to take anything for pain for my joints and back. I have not had a blood presser pill in weeks. I can play pool for more than an hour at a time, maybe a lot more...I don't want to push it yet. I was 185 lbs, now down to 158 lbs. I was 156 lbs when I got out of the Army 50 years ago. I can see a big difference in my game. I have no beer belly to get in the way anymore and can reach shots that I needed the bridge for just a few weeks ago. Even my stroke is so much smoother. Thank you...just had to brag a bit and hope it helps some to see it can help you're game to say nothing for your health and for players that have beer bellies to knock off a little weight. Johnnyt

Good for you, Johnny! Well done!

Did you just cut out the beer, or have you incorporated exercise into your daily routine?

I have noticed there are a lot of plump pool champions, though. I wonder how they do it. Take Fats, Steve Mizerak, Buddy Hall, Kid Delicious, et cetera. Imagine if they lost the extra pounds how their game just might improve.

I stopped drinking about 3 or 4 years ago. I cut my portions about in half, no deserts, water instead of 4 cans of Dew a day, and some very light weight lifting. The champs you mentioned were in another era. Not too many champs today that are over weight. Johnnyt

That is very true, Johnny.

You are to be commended. It's hard to break old habits sometimes, and you effected a change for the betterment of your health. Gosh, that's great news!

That's great! What's your secret? I could stand to lose a pound or twenty myself. I agree with the bp meds, I'd wait till I got the ok from the doctor

Good for you Johnny. I wouldn't cut out on the blood pressure pills until you talk to your DR.

You are on them for a reason.

Thank you. After 9 years and 6 doctors that I asked to up my Lasix and write me a script for nebulizer treatments, finally this knockout looking woman Dr. did what I asked and bingo in a less than a week I could breath much better and rarely needed a B/P pill. I'll tell her Wed. when I go see her. She will yell at me for stopping the B/P pills w/o asking her, I hope she spanks me. Johnnyt

If I continued to take them I would have bottomed out. But your right... I should have at least called her. Johnnyt

Thank you for reading my posts. I know you have to cringe at the poor spelling and comas in all the wrong places :p. 7th grade was the highest grade I sort of passed=they pushed me through. Johnnyt

I hope she spanks me

I found a new knock out Dr too Johnny. Just last week I was in for a physical.
She told me that I had to stop masturbating. I asked why.

She said, "because I am trying to examine you".

Women, never figure em out eh?

Yeah, I skip my BP meds too. I do it when I start feeling good. Probably not a good thing to do but sounds like you have it licked
so good for you. The old Hustler still has quite a few years left.

You can buy excellent blood pressure monitors these days for less than $75. Most of them keep a past record of readings for at least two separate people. Technology at work! Check them out at Amazon.com

Muchos Congratos!

LMAO. I'll have to tell that one to the Doctor tomorrow. Johnnyt

I have had one for years and anyone that there B/P is even slightly high should have one and use it at least once a day. Johnnyt

Thanks Johnny

You sir are an inspiration !! I've known I have been TOO heavy for a while now and have gotten serious about making some changes. Glad to see a positive post like this today :) I'm down about 10 lbs after a few weeks of no bread ,pasta ,rice and very low low dairy intake .Going to keep on keeping on until I too can post that I am below my ideal weight 185 lbs or less. The big motivator for me has been PAIN , gout ,and a few bouts with plantar fasciitis .I know for a fact that my feet were designed to hold up 185 lbs of Matt ,not 225 lbs. However if anyone wants any good advice on shoes and inserts I am a self professed expert .

WTG. Good luck to you the rest of the way. You'll feel better and have less pain i'm sure. Johnnyt

You know what Johnnyt, this is just the push I needed. I'm not obese but I could stand to loose a few pounds. I am 6'2" and weigh around 230 lbs. I figure I need to loose about 30 lbs to get back into shape like I want.

I have a history of back pain and I know this would help a lot. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks, man, I needed a good laugh right about now.

Good work, JT. I need to do the same, only a lot more than 27 pounds. I've been wanting to quit drinking, but I just built a bar in my home room. That fridge stares me in the face every time I go down to play. It usually wins the staring contest.

As far as the BP meds go, well, I hope you get the spanking you deserve. ;)

Thats what I'm here for Pockets. I do what I can.

Some are addicted to pop or coffee. Me, I love the taste of beer.
If I drank coffee during the day, I'd be ricocheting off the walls.
Probably wouldn't be able to hold my cue straight.

I think wifey likes the Teddy Bear Tummy anyway.
