Replying just to your edits that crisscrossed with my last post, I didn't see you specify how funds were to be paid to Paypal. I have had Paypal take quite awhile to clear funds sent to me in the past. Multiple delays with never a claim of problems with the sender's funds. Their way of doing business and personally I believe they are making money off of the monies that they take their own sweet time about clearing.

If Bob or Paypal has notified you that he has sent an e-check to your account his part of the deal is finished unless the e-check should be invalid. I strongly suspect he doesn't feel any need or desire to communicate further with you at this point. Communication is needless time, effort, and aggravation for Bob at this point.

If Paypal claims there is a problem with Bob's funds, then send him a certified letter demanding guaranteed funds in your hands within ten business days. If he fails to perform, initiate legal action. However at the moment it seems that your desire to use Paypal may be the reason you don't have funds in hand.

Paypal isn't to blame for me not getting a refund....I'm not at fault for not receiving a refund.....If you would like a detailed explanation please contact Bob....using paypal for purchases and refunds is not difficult, but for some reason we have run into a snag....My position here isn't to play the what paypal said and what Bob said game. I just replied to post # 22 and as of this date and time I have don't have 525.00 in my paypal account.....thats all that matters at this time....Hu I pmd you my phone number....if you would like to discuss this any further please call me...If you don't wish to call....lets keep the posts simple....I think all the AZ members care about is if I have a refund in my account....nothing more nothing less....I hope this make sense..

I actually am quite interested in what paypal said Dale. I think that it is obvious why readers of this thread would want to know. My thinking is right in line with shooting arts here.

However, I must say that Bob Griffin is wrong in my opinion that these type of threads will hurt pool. I think that this forum in general will help serve as THE Sheriff in town and help prevent bad business practices and welching.

I'm loving every minute of it. I made a bet on the Manalo vs Morris match with a well repped member here and I'm 99.9% sure the money is about to arrive thanks to the Actionhound thread.
 
stepping back until after the eighteenth

I just had a long talk with Dale on the phone. Dale has answered all of my concerns and more. I'm going to step back and give Dale and Bob some room to try to work things out and I'll try to avoid further comment until after the eighteenth. According to Paypal, nothing will happen until at least then anyway.

I very respectfully suggest that all other third parties try to step back also. After the eighteenth we can start all over again if Dale doesn't have his money! :D :D :D

The Paypal echeck transaction was submitted on the 1st, and now it is not expected to clear until at least the 18th. To my knowledge, Paypal does not take 18 days to transfer funds.

Yes I am making an assumption here, but this sounds more like a post-dated check type scenario, or a check that came back as insufficient funds and is being re-processed at a future date in the hopes that the funds are available the second time around.

This is about the refund of a $525 deposit for three cues. Per Mr Griffin himself, he sold two of those cues for a minimum of $750 to someone else THE VERY SAME DAY that he said he would refund back Dale's $525 deposit. The third cue had already been sold prior to that.

Mr Griffin had the money from the sale of the cues in his pocket the same day he agreed to the refund and the method of refund. Why then is it taking him at least 18 days (and we don't even know it will happen then) to get the money to Dale? Post-dated checks, insufficient funds, or lack of money are all unacceptable excuses since he had the money for these cues in his pocket the same day he said he would refund it.

Dale has been put through too much hassle and made to wait for far too long already. If there is some problem with Mr Griffin's paypal or bank account or something similar, has he offered to refund the money by another method to prevent further delay? Eighteen days for Paypal seems ridiculous. Heck, Mr Griffin could have set out walking to Dale's home on the 1st to hand deliver a cash refund and been there before the 18th. And maybe he should offer to do just that at this point if that is what it is going to take to ensure that it gets there in a reasonably timely manner.

Maybe there is information that I am not privy to that shows that Mr Griffin is not at all responsible for the continued delay since the 1st, and maybe there is information that there is nothing more he could have done or done differently to make things go any faster (both doubtful), but until such information comes to light I see no reason why he should not be chastised for continuing the ongoing delay of giving this man his money back.

If you notice on my post on 03/09/08 I posted that you did indeed send me an echeck on 03/01/08..the clearing date was set up for 03/05/08. The funds were not in my account on 03/05/08. They bumped the clearing date to 03/18/08...here is a copy of the deposit from my paypal account showing the clearing as of this morning....I have my refund thank you...

DALE HAS HAD HIS REFUND BACK SINCE MARCH 1ST. I DO NOT KNOW WHY HE COULD NOT GET IT TO CLEAR ON HIS END BUT IT CLEARED ON MY END I AM NOT THE TYPE OF PERSON TO KEEP SOME ONE ELSES MONEY EVEN WHEN THEY WERE SPECIAL ORDERED TO HIS SPECS I STILL GRANTED HIM HIS MONEY BACK.

If you read the above post I did state that I received a e check from you on 03/01/08....it takes 3-4 days for a echeck to clear....the clearing date was set up for 03/05/08..the check didn't clear on 03/05/08, and paypal estimated the next clearing date for 03/18/08...they told me over the phone that they would try retrieve the funds again between 03/05/08 - 03/18/08. Now if paypal extracted funds from your account and didn't deposit those funds into my account on 03/05/08....thats an issue between you and paypal.....the funds cleared this morning....thats the bottom line. If you have any doubts on when the funds were put into my account......call paypal.....1-888-221-1161

Anybody that has sent or received an echeck through paypal knows...they take 3-4 days to clear...you claim I had the funds the same day you sent them....not possible...echecks don't work that way...

Exactly. He doesnt understand that because he refunded you by echeck that it has to clear before YOU can get ahold of the funds yourself. The delay was on his end, not yours and they need to understand that.

They still try to say you tried to scam them, but why would someone try to scam somebody over what? $25 a cue? Doesnt make sense to me.

Then they say you are trying to destroy their company. I never once seen you tell people NOT to buy cues from Madison Bob.

Just a thought from an outsider.
