Magic Rack - too perfect or WTF?

Even if the magic rack guarantees a ball on the break everytime (which it doesn't), how many of you are putting packages together? I don't mean one or two, I mean packages, five racks and up.

All packages include a ball on the break every time. When this percentage increases so do the packages. There's no way around the math involved with this. Zero balls equal zero packages. Anything more than this is more. We just don't know by how much.

The magic rack is horrible!I played in a tournament match and a ball landed on the rack 3 times in our match and we had to call a ref to pick the ball up and reset it.Just a bad product imho

Must have taken a long time to reset the ball. Worth it for a good rack.

The occasional ball finishing on the rack is really no big deal. We use the MR at the Swanee, which is a pretty serious local tournament in Southern California. My opponent broke and a ball ended up on the rack; he was trying to figure out how to remove it. I just got up and said "Let me help you. I'll lift the ball slightly you remove the rack." It's not really a big deal and it doesn't happen but maybe a couple of times a set.

I've played on numerous tables where it is impossible to get a tight rack. Either the head ball rolls off or the balls in the back won't stay tight with the rest. Even on those tables the magic rack gives you a perfect, tight rack. I think the MR is great. It gives everyone the same rack every time.

... I'm not bettin my cash using the MR........

...you KNOW you're going to make the wing ball every time, ...lol

I would take it as a spot...prob worth at least the 8 on most tables. On my home table, with the rack I have, I say is it worth the 7.

Implement cheating device!

I think the MR is great. It gives you allways a tight rack and the same conditions for every player. Can't see anything wrong with that...

New Triangle thing

Same tight rack for every player. What's wrong with that? The benefits far outweigh the cons.

Think of it this way. If we had been using the MR for twenty years and somebody all of a sudden showed up with a triangle, how well would the triangle with all it's flaws be accepted?

I suspect not very well!

That is a great way of putting it.

"Sure there is nothing on the table, but takes 5 times longer to get a good rack and the 9 ball keeps dropping or hanging up for a combo!" And I need new cloth and good slate to have it work right! What kinda crap piece of wood is this??
