Let's have some fun. Say this was a 9 ball tournament. What would be your order of finish if they play right now? Here's mine.

Johnny (The Scorpion) Archer
Mike (Captain Hook) Sigel
Earl (The Pearl) Strickland
Nick (The Kentucky Colonel) Varner
Buddy (The Riffleman) Hall
Keith (Earthquake) McCready
Jimmy (Pretty Boy Floyd) Mataya

Your order is as good as any. Man, it sure would be a great tournament to watch!

Sigel looked like the old Sigel the last tournament he played in. I love the way the old schoolers played.

I think you probably nailed it....

I think that once any of them got in stroke any one of them could put a 6 pack on the other and win a set. Just my opinion, at that level of play I think it can come down to who gets the rolls and who is breaking better.

Can't argue with your order. I guess you stopped this thread dead in it's tracks.

All of these guys were world beaters in their primes, literally. Archer is still in his prime, so he's a given for first. The other ones, come down to who has kept in competition as they have aged, and who are the healthiest today.

My oder if played today is:

Archer
Varner
Strickland
Sigel
McCready
Hall
Mataya

OK, just to liven things up a little, how would you rank them if we were talking about a match-up for money rather than a tournament? Certainly in my mind Keith would climb the board. ;)
