Main Forum vs NPR vs Tournament Section- I just want to follow the rules

What time is it?

I recently posted a thread 'I'm Back' and it clearly mentioned pool and pool happenings but was moved to NPR in less than 6 hours. My question, so I don't make the mistake again and remain within site rules - please let me know what is or is not allowed in the Main Forum. Any poster that can help me, please feel free to respond. Thanks and take care everyone.

For example, the following threads can be found in the Main Forum and confuse me on why a post that clearly states pool is moved to NPR-

Sorry, I don't understand.

I like your punching bag signature. Not sure if the person who is the bag likes it, but I do.

For the 10,000 time.

I manage thes posts in my SPARE time.

Often, unless a thread is brought to my attention, I may miss it.
If you really don't know the difference between the requirements, by all means...learn.

For the record.....Watchez, please do not trifle with me.

The owners of AzBilliards Forums reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason.

That would be all you need to know on this topic.

Sorry, this is the first time for me seeing this explanation. Normally, I don't read your posts or search them out. I have now learned and if you could have this list of threads moved in your spare time, that would be great.

Cowboyup - hope all is well with you.

When everyone who frequents these forums realizes that we are all GUESTS here and do not in any shape, form or fashion OWN any part of the website, a slightly different attitude may prevail.

I get a good laugh sometimes out of a few posters who think they own a piece of turf here simply from their longevity and prolific post rate on these forums.

I'm sure you'd love someone being invited into your house and then they proceed to insult you on how wrong you are in the way you live.

KNOCK, KNOCK! WE ARE GUESTS HERE! GET IT?????

Now this line is classic. I have a picture of Bill Lumburgh from Office Space in my mind saying this, lol.

Why is a reasonable question like Watchez"s met with such harshness. Why does everybody get such joy at yelling at each other. It is hard to tell the difference between NPR and the Main Forum sometimes.

IMO. Watchez adds a lot to the forum. I'm glad to see you back.

This is the thing i can't get my head around. A forum with over 20,000 members and only TWO mods, to me it doesn't make sense.

Two or three mod's would be plenty, if they didn't have to baby sit a bunch of juvenille, idiotic poster's, who seem to think their right to "free speach" means they can crap all over the forum. It is a privelege to be able to participate in a healthy discourse. It's their dime we're playing on, whether it be Main Forum, or NPR or Tours related, they should be allowed to set reasonable standards. As Mrs. H. says, If you want to "rant" and B##ch constantly,AND self promote, and do nothing to contribute, just start your own forum. I'm sure its easy.
We are lucky to have this site, thanks to a ton of work by Mike, and others. Why do some people feel the need to abuse it. They need to get a life.
It's a good thing I'm not a moderator, or the first flame throwing, negative,
bi###ing post, would earn a lifetime ban. Thank God most of us are sensible adults or respectful youngsters.
Support your local (now global) AZB forum. Do we want the rest of the world to think we are whiny, spoiled, ugly American's who enjoy being at odds with each other ? Lets hope not. :(

Dick

PS I have been guilty of critizing "aiming systems" but even though I don't agree with them, I would never stoop to name calling. If needed my next post will call out, by name, the people I'm refering to. I'm sure the "flamer's" will respond.

Thank you sir. I guess I just found it a bit strange that my thread stating I was back ....and clearly stated about pool .....was moved in less than 6 hours while a thread such as Funny Pic/GIF has been around for months and never moved. I once posted in the Main Forum a Happy Birthday to Joe Rogan thread and it was moved in less than an hour. Someone must really be watching every thing I post and tipping Mr. Wilson off. Oh well. I wonder who that could be.

begun my cue building project (Ragu Cues), went to KC with the kid and won another $7,700 total - Bartram Match + Bergman match. (Thanks Tar). Feel like I got screwed out of $2K more (IBA too) by the no show that was actually expected by me. I wonder if Bartram has heard the latest. Send me a PM and I will fill you in. I think the total of $16,500 on TAR now makes Justin the second highest grossing player on TAR so far. That is posted, announced bets. I believe SVB total win (minus losses) is $25K. One more match and win, and the Watchez/Bergman corporation will be the all time leaders. We have an offer on the table but the travel time and cost to the place is an issue. Still mullying it over.

We get it but we are also what makes this forum worth coming to. Ever been to a dead and boring party, bar, or event?

There are lots of pool forums one can go to. It's the PEOPLE that make the forum not the fact that the forum exists. Anyone can have a forum in 30 minutes or less and for about $15.

This site sells ads and the reason it CAN sell ads is because of the amount of viewers that come here. As with just about ANY forum on ANY subject, a small percentage of the membership keeps it "alive" with frequent postings. And a living forum is an active one.

AKA Trigger asked "when did you know this forum was family?" And in fact a lot of us feel that way. We have known each other for years, met each other in real life. So IF it's the people who make up the Forum Family isn't it just as bad to get nasty with them and play favorites and edit/move posts unequally?

No one likes to invest time crafting a post only to see it summarily moved/edited without any discussion at all. Having said that IF someone clearly violates the rules with the INTENTION of goading a response then they can't really ***** about it when they get the response.

The moderators of a large forum wield a lot of responsibility and even "power" over the membership. I don't envy Dave Wilson's job, if you think it's time consuming to read this forum every day imagine having to read all the posts because it's your responsibility to do so. I can only imagine the PM's he gets daily complaining about this or that. But even at that he has a larger responsibility to the revenue stream not to wield his "power" like a bludgeon. Because the truth is that when the active addicts leave and the post count goes down then the content leaves along with it.

No people to advertise to means no ad revenue. Now maybe AZB is at the point where they can afford to lose quality posters (and that's a subject all to itself as to who is "quality" and who isn't). But in the internet world the next greatest thing is only a click away and so are the members. AZB has grown into the community it is because of the people who stay here. Hopefully those people will be treasured for the value they bring to an otherwise cheap piece of software on a computer.

Watchez:
You know the rules of the forum, they are posted, you have been emailed, you have been warned, you have been banned; frankly that is enough. Try to act mature and stop this attitude of "starting fires".

Either get on with talking about pool related subjects and saying hi to friends or dismiss yourself. Michael has been informed of this thread and Mr. Wilson will take whatever measures Mike left him with for enforcing. These "threads" will be looked over and if Mr. Wilson feels they need to be moved he has the power. They will not be moved on your demand.

You are all "GUESTS" here and we really do enjoy seeing posts from all types of people. This forum is for enjoyment and sharing. You want to see the commitment and how hard Mike has worked on the websites (plural) check out "For the Love of Pool". http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?p=1415057#post1415057

There are several people who are not "qualified moderators" but friends and family who keep an eye on the pages to make sure things stay civil. This is not a site that should have to be "moderated" every second, like little children out of control. This site was developed for the average pool player and fan to communicate their love of pool and stay connected.

Watchez, I can honestly say, it wasn't me who snitched on you. But it could have been anyone. Your beligerant, argumentative attitude, sets you up for all kinds of problems. You use this forum to try and collect bad debts, berate anyone who disagrees with you, and in general seem to enjoy controversy. Keep it up, you WILL have to return as an alias. However your attitude will always shine through.

You make some good points John, but I would wager Mike has a little more than $15.00 invested in this operation.
I also question the need for argumentative "flamer's" to drive up the numbers. USA Today has a much larger following than the National Enquirer. Some people gravitate towards "train wrecks" and some people prefer to just get along and enjoy life. I'll take the latter. JMHO :yeah:
