Thanks Gary

Danny does that before he fixes his hair every day ????

Hi Lone Wolf (cool name by the way) my pick would be two names that are not on the list, Danny Barouty or Steve Lipsky. Ohh I am sportin' the pony tail now a days Gary so less maintenance.:)

Bob is right in that some of these guys really have no interest in straight pool. Shane immediately comes to mind.

Danny's choices would bring in some very experienced straight pool technicians to the event, which would be nice.

Sigel would be great, if he behaves himself.

Alex plays good straight pool. Orcullo is picking it up nicely. Max is serious about his straight pool and Darren has played quite well since he picked up the game.

Ralf Souquet should certainly be in the picture. Thomas Engert, were he available would be an interesting choice. Niels, definitely, but he is unavailable

I wish that Schmidt would reconsider.

Mike Sigel is not Earl. Sometimes he talks alot while he is shooting but he also shows alot of respect for the game.

He was also the best straight pool player since Mosconi and noone since Sigel has reached his peak at the game.

This litterly might be the last chance to see a straight pool legend in competition, ever.

He is a great straight pool player. I have seen him compete at a couple of the recent world championships.

Can daz play?? .

Too funny.....

Darren Appleton:

Recent 14.1 accomplishments:

2012 World 14.1 Championship- 3rd
2012 DCC Challenge- 5th

2011 DCC Challenge- 1st
2011 DCC Challenge- high run bonus

2009 DCC Challenge- 2nd

2008 DCC Challenge- 1st.

Yeah......I'd say the man can play straight pool.

It is quite clear that the initial 4 players selected could be considered among the top ten 14.1 players in the world.

I also realize that there are many great and popular players on the Poll, but please let's try to make the 5th voted player someone who fits into the criteria of a recently proven performer.

Darren Appleton, in my opinion, should most certainly be considered as a named contender, and not an 'other'.

Bernie Pettipiece.

Amen, brother ... Mike has my vote!

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure when he asked "Can Daz play?" he meant something like "Will his BB schedule allow him to play?" or "Since Daz is not listed in the poll can we still vote for him to play?" rather than "Is Daz any good at straight pool?"

Danny Boy !

Hey Danny, How have you been ? Congrats on your 14-1 Hi run. Good Luck in Tunica, You should do well with the tail back. Lol!! Glad to hear your back.
Gary

I like Allen Hopkins, legend, great player and one of the pillars of our industry.

Then again, I'd also like to see if Shane Van Boeing can come in and snap off a straight pool event like he snapped off the one pocket.

Ok !

Good point, Sigel is old and it would be nice to see him in this event, especially if he is playing as well as is being said. Nothing wrong with Sigel. He definitely would be a force and a great draw. I am old too, Would draw spectators !

There's also Gotta Be one Great 14.1 player somewhere in jersey or ny city or thereabouts. Heck, I'd like to see Rempe play some 14.1.

Darn tootin The Mouth would be a great addition. Heck, didn't he run 120 and out @ 18 months ago in NY?

Poke the bear. He'll be firing on all 8, with turbo.

I know this is off the thread topic but I would love if Accu Stats did a match between two players where they had to play safe off of the break ball. This would showcase some of the safety play that can occur during a game of 14.1 between two great players and give us amateurs a better insight into that part of the game.

Appleton makes a good point- he deserves a spot. If not him, then it is always entertaining to see Earl in any event

If Efren wants to play and is available how do you keep him out? Pool needs more Efren. And cowbell.

hmmm, no.

With all due respect, Efren is not a "14.1 player."

While he does quite well in straight pool competition though pure talent, watching him play 14.1 is like watching M.C. Escher play straight pool :-)

Lou Figueroa
would rather see
Sigel or Rempe
