Make It Happen

Lets talk about it

There is no doubt in my mind that the top 4 one pocket players in the world today are
Pagulayan
Van Boening
Frost
Reyes

Corey Duel has been an upper echelon player playing short rack games for the pas ten years plus. He's always tough to beat playing one pocket against the strongest fields. In the last US Open one pocket tournament he finished third behind Gentile and Reyes. He won the last major one pocket event at the DCC beating Bustamante in the finals ( handily) Choosing him to play in this event wasn't a surprise to me. Shannon Daulton has been a top one pocket player for the last 20 years, winning several major one pocket tournaments and has always been recognized by his peers to be in the top 10 ever to have played the game. So Duel and Daulton round off the field of six to compete against one another for the first "Make It Happen" one pocket champion.

On April 11th thru April 14th. we will be treated to some of the finest one pocket that can be played, anywhere in the world. Tune in and enjoy it.

Thanks,
Bill Incardona

LOL,I was joking around about the term African American the other day with friends.I don't care for the term but "black" is offensive to some people?..no idea really....What does an American travelling to Africa call a black skinned African? If a Canadian moves to the U.S. are the a Canadian American or what?If a Caucasian U.S citizen emigrates to an African country are they an American African?

I'm gonna take a wild guess here, and go with, "African"

As you may already know, one pocket game players are either offensive (Scott, SVB, Cory , and others) or defensive players (Cliff, Shannon) and there is in between. I watched Cliff play lately; he tends to play very safe game one ball at a time, maybe because he cannot run balls like he used to. Truthfully i had to fast forward between every shot, very bad for video production, i hope Shannon and Efren do not get into up table game because it seem both players balls run ability is diminished a bit lately??

Cliff may have lost a step but, hell so has Secretariat!! i still enjoy watching Cliff play and respect his knowledge and abilities.
As they say in baseball, when they get older, arms slow down. Sad, but so true.
It would be difficult for me not to include Cliff.

Having just read through these post's about the upcoming ACCU-STATS "Make it happen" event, I'm really looking forward to the watching these matches, live! They "ALL,-------" figure to be really awesome match-ups!

P.S. As the Invitational is a race to 3 on the 10 footer, Does anyone figure to have a better record than Alex, when it's over?
Also, I heard that Cory and Efren were at Sandcastle playing all week!

Imo Alex is the favorite in the tournament, he has the strongest all around game and it will show on the big table. However, don't ever count Reyes out he's always been a very special player with a will to win. Reyes is a very proud man who wants badly to avenge his biggest disappointment, and that was the last time he played on the Diamond 5X10 table in the "Make It Happen" 8ball tournament. He played very poorly and I know he's prepared for this event because of how poorly he played in the last one. But can he perform on the big table at his age? I don't know but I do know that he'll be much better. This could be Reye's "Last Hurrah"..

Who wouldn't pay to see Francisco Bustamante Play.

Francisco has been tearing up the competition.
He didn't do too bad at the Derby this year.....

At Mountain View last year, Francisco won both the One Pocket and 9/10 ball.
It was Scott Frost who came to Francisco and asked for a Saver.

Cliff Joyner was at one time the best One Pocket Player in the Land.
Yes he belongs in the One Pocket Hall of Fame.
Any Pool Player who has seen Cliff play, I am sure was awed by his performance, rather than his skin color.
People please don't tarnish Cliff's great image as a One Pocket Champion.

JAM shame on you for bring up the word R___....
Cliff doesn't deserve that.
Just by saying "I don't", did not make you look good.
It was an Ugly sentence.

JCIN sign up Francisco to play the winner, it's a sure sellout.

My bad guys. Didn't mean to start a race card war! Lol but to answer Jam. I have been there to see Cliff drum up action before.

Outrageous spots! 17-5 playing a certain tournament director in the south

That's beside the point. I just think its great that we have a great battle going down at one of the most pure games in our sport. I don't even play one pocket but I can appreciate it!

And the F is this guy who said Cliff is Caucasian? not to put u on blast but I mean... Ah nvm too easy

There's no way that certain tournament director would be Daulton, right?

Lol never but that really only leaves one major tour left.... Lol

Hope he doesn't get mad about it. Think Viking...

If Cliff could give that to Shannon then... Cliff might own the one pocket hall of fame!

I would love to see all of the top players in it, but it was voted for. I agree Cliff knows the game, with shot clock i wounder how he thinks and play! i know he is not going to have 8 and out runs.

Don't know why they would use red and yellow balls, this is one pocket not eight ball. The balls were unusual but they did work for the game, patterns were easier to see, they were a bit more difficult for the commentators though then regular balls.

What I was trying to say was, tung-in-cheek: Since they used reds & yellows for 8-ball, then why not use one single color, such as ALL red or ALL blue for one-pocket? That would be the next logical step right?

This was an admittedly facetious comment on my part since I was extremely disappointed about the ball set used for the 8-ball event. I think even the Aramith TV balls (with the pink 4/12 and brown 7/15) are pointless now with the blue cloth and the resolution of today's video productions.

One reason for my disappointment was the VERY FACT that the commentary was made to be awkward. I want to hear good analysis when I watch pool.

I'm not a one-pocket fan anyway, and I do think Accu-Stats does wonderful things, so I'm not wanting to hammer on this... carry on.

You could not have picked 6 better players.Looking forward to this one.I am hoping and maybe even expecting Ef to play well and be a force in this event.

All one color would be fine for 1P but one thing is that the commentators use the ball numbers to describe the games.I agree that TV balls are worthless and never were much good IMO.

I will express my thoughts and opinions whenever I feel like it. I don't agree with everything you may write, but I'm not going to single you out and tell you about it and suggest any shame on your end.

I happen to like Cliff, FWIW, and I feel he's getting the short end of the stick in the pool world, and because of it, I am going to express my thoughts about it. Shame on your for telling me I shouldn't.

That is actually a great suggestion for one-pocket.

Sure as heck beats orange and purple balls. :o

Great idea! I can't believe nobody has thought of this previously for one-hole. It would take the guesswork out for the spectators who may not be familiar with the game of one-pocket. Brilliant!

...Also, I heard that Cory and Efren were at Sandcastle playing all week!

This right here is something to think about. Corey is the best equipment master I've ever known. Once he familiarizes himself with the table, the environment, the balls, et cetera, you can be sure he's going to break balls and pocket balls pretty doggone good! ;)

Thanks Bill, if this happens at super ball time, i will opt for the stream, cannot wait. All my money on Scott this time, it is time to prove to the world that he is the best one pocket player so people forget the way he played with Alex on the 8 ahead--go Scott, if he repeat same mistake he did with Alex he is out of my book for ever..Sure i love Efren to win it, he can, but all others know him by now, in pool, over estimating your opponent is half the battle amazing how it works, Efren has to let these players win the 1st game, maybe 2, otherwise there is no way for him to win or extremely hard will see, for Efren, he is already up there will always under estimate all his opponents very hard to get off this mode ..cannot wait. Cory on the other hand, might not get lucky this time with his multiple combination bank, kiss off ball shots! will see..Alex will loose Scott's games for sure, but might win all others, SVB, if he is in the mode for 1 pocket he might be a killer..

Naji, I'll take your bet, sir. I don't think Scott will win.

Are you sure you've ever seen Cliff play, Naji?
